Years End

 
We have come to the end of another year
We wonder how many more there will be
Only our God up in Heaven has the answer
How long until the departed ones I shall see

He has told me He has this wonderful place
Where we will have and eternal worry free life
A place of serenity and of comfort we will find
Only peace shall we see and never know strife

He tells us in that great book, the Holy Bible
That He went to the cross and died for our sin
For the penalty of sin is death and so He died
So we could live in Heaven our soul He did win

If next year He should call my name to leave
An evil Earth and put a troubled world behind
I would fall on my knees and ask to be blessed
By a Savior who has always been to us so kind

It's Christmas Day

 
Many years have passed since that night
A blessed event happened in Bethlehem
A baby boy was born to the virgin Mary
Son of God we know He is the great I am

He came into this world to save our soul
Taking on our sins as if they were His own
He died a death for all sins we committed
He became a Savior we had never known

We do celebrate His birthday in December
December twenty fifth is the precious day
It is a day when our families gather around
To watch children open their gifts and play

Too many forget the reason for Christmas
It is the day we celebrate Jesus Christ's birth
For without the birth of this most Holy child
What would our life on this Earth be worth

His Birth

It was a clear night in Bethlehem
A bright star was shinning above
That night Jesus Christ was born
His birth filled the world with love

Three wise men came to the stable
Brought gifts to the newly born King
It was quiet in the stable that night
For the fear of who it would bring

Today we celebrate that great birth
With a day known as Christmas day
Where Christians revel at His name
Thinking of the manger where He lay

His birth has brought to us a new life
Where we can spend eternity with Him
Up in the land that we know as Heaven
Without His birth our life would be grim

Poor But Rich

I can still remember back in time when
We strung popcorn to put on our tree
Christmas was a toy and a bag of candy
Still it brought so much happiness to me

We were poor but Christmas brought joy
Being thankful for any small gift we got
We knew they didn't cost much money
Still we were made happy by the thought

God was with us those lean years long past
Mother would take us to church each week
Most everyone there was as poor as we were
Still it was the blessing of the Lord we did seek

Today as I look back to what we went through
I realize we weren't as poor as we had thought
God had blessed us with much love back then
It's an eternal home with Him must be sought

Call It Christmas

 
Born in that manger that Holy night
God sent to us His only begotten son
To take on our sins as if they were His
So our souls to Heaven could be won

We celebrate that birth of Jesus Christ
With a day that some may call a Holiday
But if we leave Christ out of Christmas
To us it will just become another day

He came to our Earth with this purpose
To save our souls from the fires of Hell
He loved all of the people in this world
If you study the Bible then you can tell

Call this day what it was meant to be
It is a celebration of the birth of Jesus
Who then died on an old rugged cross 
To save the souls of all people like us

Santa;s Night

Santa has packed his sled full
He is set for a long run tonight
He has put everything in order
Knowing he must pack it right

His reindeer are getting so frisky
A year without work is the reason
Tonight they must travel for miles
To spread joy this Christmas season

Landing on the rooftops is so tricky
Sliding down the chimneys is hard
Still he has to put gifts under the tree
He can't leave them out in the yard

Gifts he will bring to all the children
He picked them for each girl and boy
Some will get computers or TV games
But everyone must also get a nice toy

All through the night Santa will work
Making sure His deliveries are just right
He is so happy when he gets back home
Knowing everyone will enjoy this night

What Christmas Is About

With the hustle and bustle of the season
How many know what Christmas is about
Not buying gifts that are not what we want
But for the birth of Jesus Christ no doubt

While so many forget the birth of Jesus
Greed fills the coffers of the retail stores
Some won't wish you a Merry Christmas
Perhaps we should not enter their doors

Sometimes the bargains are tempting
It becomes easy to fall for their game
If we do  we should ask for forgiveness
We know Christmas has part of His name

How easily we forget the true meaning
Of what Christmas should mean to us
It is about the birth of our dear Savior
Born of Mary she had named him Jesus

My Prayer

Hold to my hand Lord, show me the way
Take me to that land where life is eternal
Help me dear Lord rid me of all of my sin
With satan Lord help me with that battle

Always be there beside me precious Lord
To be with you forever shall be my prayer
I will follow you and worship you always
For you are the master and I am the beggar

Wherever you are I want to be with you
Always to be there by your precious side
To love and to honor you in all your glory
Then I with you up in Heaven I can reside

You are so perfect and I am so worthless
I know some day you will make me whole
When we meet in that land of perfection
Where you will give me the perfect soul

Seasons

Bring back to me the memories of Spring
When youth was  good and I was so free
These were the very best years of my life
Little did I realize what was in store for me

Summer was the strongest time that I saw
Feeling everything I did had to be the best
No one could do things better than I could
Knowing my work could ever meet the test

Autumn was at a time when I slowed down
My energy level seemed to lack the drive
Of what I had back in those younger years
I began to wonder how long I would survive

Winter came so much earlier than I realized
Still I knew happiness that I had found Jesus
Knowing soon I would have this eternal life
In God's perfect kingdom He has built for us

Happiness With Jesus

Can you see the beauty I see in Jesus
Do you know the Grace He shall give
If you follow Him and ever love Him
An Eternal life with Him you will live

He loved me and gave up His life here
All of my sins He has washed far away
When I gave my soul to our dear Savior
On these bended knees I began to pray

In this sin filled world that we call Earth
Demons sent by the devil will attack you
Be ever aware of who these demons are
Avoid them and to Jesus you must be true

Happiness I have known since I met Jesus
He gives me the strength to carry through
Each day brings me closer to see my Lord
You know with Jesus you can be there too

Streets Of Glory

When I walk on the streets of Glory
My Lord shall be walking by my side
Happiness will overflow me forever
For it is with my Savior I shall reside

He saved me from my sin filled days
All these sins He took on as His own
He died my death on a wooden cross
My love for my Lord has daily grown

I know He has made this place for us
Perfection in every way we will find
Scenes we never seen down on Earth
Will bring so much beauty to my mind

I want to walk with you up in Heaven
Stroll down the streets of purest Gold
Know the love of our friend, Jesus Christ
Find all the truth the Holy Bible has told

God's Great Perfection

As the Sun sinks behind the mountain
The sky reflects the Sun's rays of Gold
A beautiful picture God has shown us
Reflections in a nearby lake are bold

With scrub pine trees scattered around
Atop this mountain is fresh fallen snow
A deep Blue lake feed from the mountain
Moss on a giant bolder does now grow

So much beauty God has shared with us
I stand fascinated by what I see this day
I know this pales with what is in Heaven
God has made His place perfect to stay

When I pass from this life to a greater one
It is on Heaven's shores I shall meet Jesus
I shall walk beside my Savior with much joy
Then share this great home He built for us

One Of These Days

There is a land where  our Blessed Savior lives
I want to walk on that land one of these days
See where my home will be through eternity
See the meadow where the lamb of God lays

Know the safety of our God's great kingdom
Where we will never see any trouble or strife
Worship our Creator with all our love forever
For it is up there we shall have an endless life

What joy will fill my every day there with Him
He will provide for my every need without fail
I will clearly see His hand that was so scarred
When He hung on the cross by that rusty nail

I give Him all the love this old heart possesses
I will both honor and give Him so much praise
For with my belief in Him will give me a home
After death on Earth this spirit He shall raise

I Thank Him

When I leave this old world
It's a better home I will find
There to be forever with God
My faith with Him I did bind

His Son died to take my sins
On a cross upon Calvary hill
He took away the debt I had
Of my past sin, it was His will

I thank Him for saving my soul
Those flames of hell I wont see
He rescued me from that fate
To Him always honest I shall be

It is to my friend Jesus I do thank
For sparing a creature such as me
He took our sins and paid the price
So we could go to Heaven sin free

Best Friend

I talked to my best friend this morning
He is a friend that you should know too
He tells me I can have a life after death
If you will listen to Him He will tell you

Yesterdays sins He has taken as His own
On that old wooden cross He died for us
It is written the penalty for sin is death
Taking on our penalty was my friend Jesus

He died so we could be forgiven of our sin
If we will only confess and in Him believe
He has built a great home for you and me
It is so beautiful only God could conceive

Have a conversation with my best friend today
Pay attention to everything He has to tell you
Trust in Him and confess to Him your past sin
Then you will find  He is your best friend too

Seasons And Reasons

 
For a season there is a good reason
We know God has made it that way
In Spring is the time to plant crops
In Summer is the time we cut hay

In Autumn we harvest all the crops
 November it is time for thanksgiving
For the bountiful crops He has given
Winter we use these crops for living

This is the way life is on this Earth
In Heaven there will be one season
When everything is to His perfection
For our comfort will be the reason

No need for heating or air conditioning
It will be a perfect temperature there
God has given us everything we need
We shall eternally be in His loving care

My Cabin

In my cabin near the babbling brook
I can feel peace and comfort this day
So much beauty surrounds the cabin
It is here I love to meditate and pray

As the trees now are turning to color
It is as if God has painted all the trees
Many dazzling shade and tints we see
A lovely setting for our eyes to please

In the brook Rainbow trout are feeding
I wet a hook and sit down with my pole
I am at peace with all that God gives me
I love all this time at my old fishing hole

Although the beauty of this place is great
I can only dream of what Heaven will be
I know one day that will be revealed to me
When our Lord and Master in Heaven I see

God's Beautiful Picture

Knowing God's Love

When I walk with my Lord in Heaven
That will be a grand hallelujah jubilee
I will hear the angels sweetly singing
No more Earthly troubles shall I see

All ailments will be shed by my soul
There sin free forever we all shall be
Having left all of our fleshly feelings
Only Grace from my Savior I will see

Though I stumble about here on Earth
My legs will be strong when I get there
No  aches or pains up there shall I see
In my beautiful home beyond compare

To walk with Jesus will make me happy
All His Glory on me He shall ever shine
In His arms He will give me protection
Knowing God's love shall ever be divine

His Garden

Beauty seen this early morning
Is enhanced by dew on the rose
God has made this scenic classic
Here in His garden where it grows

His is a work of pure grandeur
Only God can make this scene
Man can try to copy God's work
But it will always be in between

I yearn for the day when I do see it
That beautiful garden up in the sky
 See Jesus walking among  the roses
A scene so beautiful that I will cry

My friend you can see this garden
Remember tonight when you pray
Confess all sins and ask forgiveness
Believe in Him then be on your way

His Place Up In Glory

This night before I go to sleep
I pray to God my spirit to keep
For He is the Savior of my soul
His blood has made me whole

He has dominion over us all
He will hear your beckon call
Always will He be by our side
With our Lord we shall abide

He has His place up in Glory
The Bible tells us a great story
All His words will ever be true
He gave his life for me and you

If you believe and confess all sin
Find a place you have never been
To Him you must always be true
He has a place in Heaven for you

God's Golden City

One day I will reach that Golden City
In my Saviors arms I will fall that day
I will there see God in all of His glory
Fall down on my knees and then pray

I will see His gleaming throne up there
Gather around and hear His true word
For I shall never lose that sweet victory
Listen to the sweetest story ever heard

My home shall be in that far off land
A home God built for believers like me
I want to walk on that Golden pathway
With my Savior throughout all Eternity

Just ask God for forgiveness of your sins
Believe in His word, He will save your soul
Your reward shall be a home up in Heaven
It is up there that God will make you whole

When I walk those streets up in Glory
Our Savior shall be walking by my side
Up there we shall find true happiness
With our loving Savior we shall abide

He was the one who died on Calvary
To save all the poor wretches like me
For everyone is born a fleshly sinner
Jesus died to make believers sin free

As I look forward to tomorrow and I see
True beauty made by God's mighty hand
A city where we shall live in all eternity
A place called Heaven that is God's land

Just believe in the Holy Bible and in God
He will lead you to this wonderful place
Where all the troubles of this old Earth
Are gone not showing even a small trace

I see Him every morning
I talk to Him every night
He is my life's sustainer

He can be a friend to you

A Loving God

A weathered old barn is still standing
On its side is an aged Mail Pouch sign
It has seen many cold, harsh Winters
It's worth for years has had a decline

When the sign was first painted on her
She was new and so proudly she stood
There were stalls for cattle and horses
A hayloft was made using sturdy wood

Hard times came to the farm suddenly
A devastating drought had hit it one year
With no money to pay for the mortgage
They knew that a foreclosure was near

It was as if God's had blessed that farm
There was a pocket of gas under the sod
Now the farm is making a lot of money
They know it all came from a loving God

Autumn In Southern Ohio

Summer has now past and Autumn has arrived
We see  much beauty in our Southern Ohio hills
Soon the forest will come alive with their colors
With leaves changing with a first frost that kills

So many shades and tints will the leaves show
A kaleidoscope of brilliant colors we shall see
Each leaf will have its own shape and its color
There is a colossal tint of color from each tree

God has blessed this beautiful part of our Ohio
He made so many varieties of the colorful trees
In the peak season many visitors will come here
A wonderful landscape to their eyes will please 

From the hardwoods of Oak, Hickory and Maple
Come some of the most beautiful leaves ever seen
Sometimes it is hard for us to believe these leaves
During the Summer growing season were all Green

Seasons

 
As September sings her swan song
We reflect on the summer that past
A wonderful growing season we saw
A larder through the Winter will last

With rain aplenty the crops did grow
Our Lord has been good to us this year
We thank Him with our sincere prayers
With God we shall ever be free of fear

We now must prepare for the Winter
Some will go to Florida to avoid snow
What kind of a Winter Ohio will have
Is something only our God does know

No matter what Winter will bring to us
In a short time Spring will be in bloom
Then it will be time to plant the crops
Our growing season can then resume

There is a reason for all these seasons
Each has its purpose here on the Earth
From Winter to Summer we will find
Each of the seasons has its own worth

There Is A Way

There will come a day soon
When we are called home
To rest in a great mansion
Never again shall we roam

Life on Earth is temporary
Heaven is an eternal place
There we will see no evil
We will know God's grace

Ever to find true happiness
Under a shelter of His love
Freedom then and forever
In God's Heaven up above

There is a way to get there
It is written in the Holy Book
Pick up your Bible and read
At each word you should look

As I look Back

I still recall those happy days of childhood
When days were slow and time stood still
It seemed as though I would be ten forever
Not realizing I had a lifetime that I must fill

From those young years, my teens followed
Still time went slowly as I was looking ahead
Always there was something I had to wait for
It seemed as if with time I would only tread

Today I can look back to those youthful years
Then I realize how fast this life has sped on by
At eighty three I wonder what will come next
What greater things I still might be able to try

Yes you might say my life has been a full plate
From the spectrum of youth to my now old age
What good I accomplished through these years
I will leave up to our Father in Heaven to gauge

God"s Eternal Care

When we come to the end of life's journey
All of our burdens at last we have laid down
We shall meet God in all His wonderful glory
It is then He will award us a beautiful crown

We will wait until that time when He calls us
Pray that our efforts will be worth His praise
When the trumpet calls us to face our Lord
We will find them to be glorious happy days

He will show us our home there in Heaven
He has spared nothing for our life up there
So much beauty and comfort it shall afford
It's there we shall live in God's eternal care

Believe in God and worship His Holy name 
His kingdom can be yours forever my friend
He will welcome you up to that eternal city
Where you will have a life that can never end

Only Through Jesus

It is through Jesus I will find my way to Heaven
In the Bible it tells us that there is no other way
He died to save us from the sins we committed
When he was put on the wooden cross that day

Although our life on earth is not a perfect one
There will be a day perfection we shall then see
Our Heavenly home will bring us contentment
No ailments or any problems there shall we see

He put us here on Earth as a mortal filled with sin
From this sin filled body we can seek His pardon
He asks that you believe and will follow His word
Then your passage to that eternal life can be won

God created Heaven for He loves all His children
Don't let the old devil cause you to throw it away
Ask God to forgive you of all your transgressions
A home in Heaven shall be yours one bright day

He Changed My Life

As the last breath of life passes from my body
Then I know that my soul will be Heaven bound
For my love of Jesus Christ has erased all my sins
Thank God it was our great Savior that I found

What a warm feeling I have deep in my heart
Knowing He will give me safe passage home
There to see the love ones that I had known
Heaven to spend an eternity never to roam

After a life of what I thought was having fun
I realized only true happiness is knowing God
It was then my life turned, I became a believer
Knowing to Heaven I shall ascend from the sod

My life has changed, I have found contentment
I know these aches and pains are from my age
God is not punishing me for past transgressions
He will write a well done in my books final page

Your New Life

If I should find tomorrow life is over
I shall ascend up to Heaven far above
There to meet Jesus Christ our Savior
I shall know and feel His eternal love

In my heart I get a wonderful feeling
With the knowledge He took on my sin
He shed His blood while on that cross
So that a new life in Heaven can begin

If today you find there are any doubts
Open the Holy Bible and read His word
He and He alone can save your lost soul
Say a prayer to him you shall be heard

Yesterdays mistakes can all be corrected
As Him for forgiveness for all of your sins
They will all be gone and long be forgotten
Heaven will be where your new life begins

This Great Land

From those majestic mountains of Colorado
To the great Smoky mountains of Tennessee
This land is a country that stands for freedom
With God's help that is the way it will ever be

Thirteen states has grown and is now fifty
Many wars have been fought to keep her free
We cannot and we will not let her stumble
This land that is so precious to you and me

It is up to all of us to stand for our rights
Not to cow down and be afraid just a few
This is not the way this country was made
It has guaranteed rights for me and you

So hold your head up and show strength
Never let a few bullies push us around
Our forefathers died to defend this land
So that freedom could always be found

Place We Call Heaven

Because of His great love my days are happy
My fear of this life has gone and passed away
I know some day I shall meet our great Savior
There will be rejoicing on that Hallelujah day

It is written about this place we called Heaven
It is in God's Holy Bible where it can be found
It's a place of contentment we will find forever
No sorrow will be known on God's Holy ground

Past sins were forgiven that day on the cross
When Jesus took our sins if they were His own
Because the penalty for sinning is to be death
He died that evil day with only a muffled groan

If you truly believe in our God and worship Him
One day your home up in Heaven you will find
It is there you will find joy in your heart forever
There will never be a sad thought on your mind

An Eternal Life

One day I shall meet you up yonder
Where no sorrow or sadness can be
God has made a home for all believers
In a land beyond where our eye can see

Up there He has built mansions so fine
Where an eternal life is waiting for us
There to walk streets paved with Gold
With the one who took our sins, Jesus

What a beautiful day there we shall find
When we first enter into that Holy land
There to meet and greet our old friends
While we listen to that Hallelujah band

Never to know a pain or illness up there
Eternally to be by our great Saviors side
God will welcome all those who believe
But He has left that up for you to decide

Scenes From The Past

As the Sun raises over the distant mountain
New chutes of rice in the paddy is now seen
With the dams to hold in the needed water
Soon this will all look like an ocean of Green

High above the mountains are Red clouds
Where reflections of the Sun can be seen
Now the morning is ready to start the day
With an air that is both fresh and is clean

This is the quiet time that is perfect for me
When I talk to God about the coming day
He tells me of my home He has in Heaven
I intently listen to everything He has to say

As we look for beauty in this evil old world
Today I think back and it is beauty that I find
Scenes from time I spent in the Philippines
After sixty years has come back to my mind

An August Rain

 
A beautiful rainbow arches the sky
After the storm clouds rolled away
Freshness fills the now cleaned air
Making this a most remarkable day

Though it is near the end of August
Our lawns have a Springtime Green
Usually August would be hot and dry
This year it is the wettest I have seen

With the excellent weather this year
Fruits and vegetables aplenty we find
Growing large and succulent to taste
It seems to bring Heaven to my mind

Our Lord has given us a bountiful crop
Tell Him of these times He gives us Grace
It can be one of the ways you thank Him
For making us a part of the human race

He Will Give

 
Jesus has told me of this place
Where the Sun will always shine
There He has made us a mansion
One sweet day I shall claim mine

When I leave this wicked Earth
On up to Heaven I shall ascend
Be greeted by our great Creator
Then live a life that will not end

It's our faith that will get us there
So we must abide with His word
Study the Holy Bible without fail
It's the greatest story ever heard

It was God who created Heaven
Where His children all could live
If we follow all of His teachings
Our place in Heaven He will give

Lift up your head and sing His praises
Welcome in your heart all of His love
Tell Him today of total commitment
As you pray to our Master up above

On your darkest day He is the light
Never would He ever turn you away
He has a home for you up in Glory
Belief in Him is the cost you'll pay

There will be a time for redemption
Confess your sins, He will set you free
Know that He is the great redeemer
He died on the cross for you and me

Today is the time for you to tell Him
Of the overwhelming love in your heart
Look up to the Heaven that's above you
Your Heavenly bound trip is soon to start

Have you ever wondered why
He put the stars up in the sky
I have wondered if it could be
They were made for us to see

So many millions of miles away
They can't be seen at light of day
Cloudy skies can block our view
God does control all of that too

If you believe it is His creation
Know He blessed this nation
How long will He keep it free
It all depends on you and me

Our Heavenly Home

I want to go to Heaven when I die
To meet my Lord and Master there
To live my life that shall be eternal
Forever to be in my Master's care

There we shall know a glorious life
Happiness up there shall ever abound
There God shall provide all our needs
Tranquility and peace will ever be found

His love for us is always and ever
Never will He turn His back on you
Your belief is what will save your soul
To our precious Lord we must be true

Life on Earth at times is often confusing
If only we could correct mistakes we make
Never do any one harm if we can avoid it
Then pray to God that our soul He will take

Friends

I will never walk alone for He is with me
His footprints can't be seen in the sand
Tho I have never been able to see Him
We walk and talk the way He planned

It is His words that will keep me going
Not once could I turn my back on Him
Without my Lord keeping me straight
My chances of Heaven would be dim

My hopes are great that you'll be there
To enjoy what God has in store for us
We can walk those shores of pure Gold
Meet and greet our greatest friend, Jesus

Oh, how I pray you find you way up there
Together, forever we shall never again part
For our good friends should never be alone
So dearly you shall ever be held in my heart

Life

 
High above the meandering stream
A lone bald eagle soars up in the air
Flying in his own environment today
He glides along without fear or care

Unsuspecting trout swim down below
Swimming around rocks in the stream
Beauty that is seen on this lovely day
Is much like having a Heavenly dream

With a stream so clear the eagle sees
A large speckled trout seeking cover
Lining up a pathway down to the trout
This master of the sky begins to hover

With one sharp swoop the eagle dives
His glide reaching breathtaking speed
There is an urgency in his hunt today
There are five  hungry eaglets to feed

Soon there is peace down in the stream
isn't that much what we face in our life
Each day that mean old lucifer, the devil
Tries to hunt us down and cause us strife

But with God we can face and whip him
We know that God is always by our side
Trust and believe in the words he says
You know He  left it up to you to decide

Our Journey

 From this mortal life to an eternal life
We shall know that journey some day
God has given us a passage to Heaven
Believe in Him for He will show the way

No matter what we have done in life
Jesus died to take away all of our sins
Unburden yourself of any misgivings
Trust in Him and your new life begins

To walk those streets of Gold up there
I know that someday I will get to see
Meet those who have gone on before
What a wonderful time that will be

If you have never trusted in our God
Today should be the day that you do
In His kingdom are so many mansions
Do you know He has built one for you

That Old Road

 
As I walk down that old dusty road
Where I walked so many years ago
Memories of the past come to me
Happy times of my youth I loved so

I  can smell that Honeysuckle today
That still grows along the fence row
It seems to be much sweeter to me
I begin to wonder where did time go

On up ahead past that winding curve
Was the old house where I was born
Without paint  to cover the bare boards
Was like a shack it was so weatherworn

Still I think back and realize I had it all
We had a mother who loved us dearly
Those ideas she told us about Heaven
Comes back to my mind now so clearly

I know one day I shall meet her up there
Where time has no clock, it's eternality
I wonder if there could be a dusty road
Where my mother could walk with me

God's Beautiful Land

Slowly winding through the valley
We see a crystal clear stream flow
It started high up in the mountain
It's water helps the foliage to grow

We see the green Pines growing tall
Looking like they could reach the sky
God has made this valley so beautiful
Melting snow keeps it from being dry

Although this day is cloudy and is cool
It gives me great joy to be here today
Knowing God is the greatest architect
Who planned this out in His own way

A world of beauty I plainly see this day
Still it pales to what we will see up there
We will see things beyond our imagination
Not one thing on this Earth will compare

A Beautiful Valley

As I walk in this beautiful valley this morning
I can feel the cool breeze blowing on my face
I marvel at the  lovely scene that my eyes see
As I stroll along at a slow and a leisurely pace

Wild flowers are seen in their glorious beauty
So many colors to treat our wondering eyes
I realize that our Great Master put them here
All of the beauty we see here is not a surprise

High on yonder mountains are the snow caps
Half way down the mountains we see the trees
Tall Pines that reach out as if to touch Heaven
God has made this place for our eyes to please

While walking along I see two quail take to wing
Somewhere in the tall grass their babies are hid
May this land be enjoyed by many generations
To destroy any of it I hope our God would forbid

That Highway

There is a highway that goes to Heaven
It has many curves and is hard to drive
There is no way to use a direction finder
But we shall know it soon as we arrive

When we pass the moon and many stars
We will know that we will be on our way
Through the darkness onward we will go
Arriving up at Heaven on a beautiful day

Roads up in Heaven are paved with Gold
What a wonderful sight we will see there
God has made this an eternal place for us
Where we shall ever be in His loving care

Your road map is found in the Holy Bible
Written words that will show you the way
It will become clear how we can get there
If you will study the Holy Bible every day

God's Perfection

Fresh is the air after a spring shower
With a rainbow stretching hill to hill
All of the beauty seen this lovely day
Seems to make my world stand still

God made this setting so beautiful
As I look across the lake that is Blue
My eager eyes search the landscape
Looking to see what an eagle will do

Flying so majestically above the lake
He then drops into a breathtaking dive
He has spotted his baby eaglets dinner
It's another day his babies will survive

Only man could mar God's perfection
Disturbing this habitat so artfully made
A serene place that is so quiet this day
There I dropped to my knees and prayed

Follow That Path

When I enter that Eternal City
There I will rest my weary soul
Feel the love of my dear Savior
Thank God who made me whole

When He has lifted me up in Glory
His praises I will shout every day
For this sinful soul found His mercy
When I fell on my knees to pray

Do you want to be there with Him
You know His arms are open wide
Waiting to welcome you up there
But first you must lose your pride

Follow that path that gets you there
Keep on the straight and narrow way
Tell Him every day that you love Him
Heaven then shall be yours some day

My God

My God walks with me in troubled times
He keeps me always on the straight path
Encouraging me when I start to stumble
If I do wrong I could also feel His wrath

My God is a gentle God who loves me
He sent His son to save us all from sin
Let Him atone for all of our misdoings
He will open up Heaven and let me in

My God made all things that we see
It is the place I cannot see I strive for
It is that eternal city where God lives
Where I want be with Him evermore

My God doesn't ask so much from me
He wants only that I believe and obey
He has built a mansion where I will live
With Him up there in Glory some day

So Much Beauty

Son Rise Camp is owned by Shawnee Hills Baptist Church. It lets children spend time at camp where they can study God's word and enjoy the outdoor life. It has a cabin for boys and a cabin for girls. Everything is paid for by the Church.

 
There is so much beauty atop that hill
That carry's the name Camp Son Rise
Up on a rolling ridge a shelter stands
It is a beautiful sight to meet our eyes

Two cabins were built by righteous men
Who had the children's future in mind
They can spend time studying the Bible
So to His Holy word they are not blind

God has shown us a way to get this camp
We see yearly how much it keeps growing
Visions of a church that is high in its ideals
Can now be seen in the faith it is showing

God loves children who attend this camp
It is known He also loves all workers too
To anyone who contributed to this camp
Its for sure God has lots of love for you

To each child attending camp this year
God has a very special plan for everyone
He wants you to get to know Him better
Still He wants your stay at camp to be fun

What you can learn from your stay here
Can help you all of your way through life
Know in God you have a friend forever
Trusting in Him can ease all of your strife

Let Christ's love come into your heart now
You will never regret what He can do for you
As you grow to love Jesus more each day
You will find you will be much happier too

His Kingdom can be yours one day up there
Trust in the Bible and say prayers each day
When you show God that you believe in Him
No need to ask for He will show you the way

Closing The Camp

 
Son Rise Hill seems very quiet now
Yesterday shouts of joy were heard
Only sounds we can hear on this day
Is the singing of a lonesome lost bird

Last night Keith had Charlie up there
Entertaining adults and children alike
Although we didn't hear Charlie say it
I know he wanted Acie to take a hike

Keith gave the children a goal in life
To be all that they could ever dream
Not to give up after seeing a setback
To become a member of God's team

Happiness can be found in the children
Who lived in that camp that's on that hill
Ask any if they will go to camp next year
You know they will say yes I surely will

Heaven Is For Believers

Weep not my friend as I pass from this life
For it is to a far better place I shall then find
Up there I will never know heartaches again
I will be with God and have a peaceful mind

His home shall be mine throughout Eternity
His Blessings on me He will always bestow
Love shown by our Blessed Savior multiplies
In my heart the love for Him will ever grow

If we slip and commit a dreaded sin today
Ask Him to forgive and it will not be a loss
For you see the Son of God died that day
Taking on our sins He died upon that cross

A place we know as Heaven is for believers
Ask our God and He will show you the way
Study the Holy Bible daily and without fail
God will meet you up there one bright day

Just A Glimpse

As I look at the majestic mountains
From the valley that is hidden below
I hear the howl of a lonesome coyote
Up above where the tall Pines grow

He is seeking his faithful companion
Who has been out foraging for food
She has five puppies that are hungry
Takes a lot of food to feed her brood

An Eagle is flying high above a stream
That flows down the mountain's side
He has an eye on a big speckled trout
It's sad the trout has no place to hide

I sit here and I see this spectacular site
Has God made this place of tranquility
For us to see on Earth a small glimpse
Of what  in God's Heaven we shall see

Beauty Of Heaven

There will come a time when life is so sweet
We will walk those Golden stairs up to glory
There to be by our Fathers side up in Heaven
To walk and talk with Jesus near the Blue sea

There to hear angels sing in harmonious joy
As we gather around God's throne  in prayer
To see the King of all Kings in majestic royalty
It is then all our questions will get an answer

Peaceful will be the day there up in Heaven
No storm clouds will ever darken God's sky
Beauty will be seen in that wonderful land
God has built a great mansion for you and I

No troubles or cares will follow us to Heaven
We will leave every hardship of Earth behind
Live a life where we shall be with God forever
Knowing He is a friend who is gentle and kind

A Life Filled With Love

Somewhere between right and wrong
I lost a heart that was so true and real
Tomorrow may find me in a cold grave
Having this problem only God can heal

My faith had just seemed to fade away
There was no reason to doubt His way
Confused by the way things are today
Had made some of my thoughts sway

Before it was too late God took my hand
Led me to a place where we could talk
There He cleared up this troubled mind
Now a straight path to Heaven I can walk

If there is confusion in your life, hear Him
Talk and walk with our Savior up above
You will find a heart you thought was lost
He has blessed and filled your life with love

Beauty Of The Mountains

Beauty of the mountains high above
Seen from the valley that is far below
Where sheep graze lush Green grass
It's Spring but the mountain has snow

This wondrous site I see here this day
It is almost like God has made it for me
A vast expanse so pleasing to my eyes
These hungry eyes are so eager to see

A stream flows down from the mountain
A tree line has tall Pines reaching the sky
Growing about half way up the mountain
We look at that and then we wonder why

This day will be ever kept in our memory
Knowing God was the Master of the plan
Perhaps giving us a glimpse of His Heaven
This beauty could never be made by man

How Much Longer

When we gather around that supper table
Fond memories of the past come to mind
Back in those years when we were family
We lived in a world both gentle and kind

We knew God and we let the world know
Our faith in Him was complete and whole
Never would we drift from these beliefs
For the word of God had uplifted our soul

I today fear for the mind set of our Nation
We put everything ahead of His teaching
Will He bring His wrath upon the people
Who ignore what our Pastor is preaching

It is with sorrow and sadness that I  find
This nation founded on a love of our God
Could turn away from Him without care
How much longer can God bless this sod

That Greatest Land

I want to hear my name called up in Glory
Then to see my Savior standing by my side
To walk on those streets in God's Kingdom
It is in His wonderful Heaven I shall abide

While life on Earth sometimes was weary
In Heaven we shall never see a dreaded day
For God has provided us a peaceful Haven
It is up there I shall with Jesus forever stay

My heart is filled up with love for my Savior
No other shall ever enter my peaceful heart
He is the one who died for each of my sins
For His Eternal Kingdom I shall never depart

I fall down on my knees and praise our Lord
He will open the gates of Heaven and let me in
To this most Glorious home he has made for us
In that greatest Land that there has ever been

Where Will You Go

Have you been washed in the blood of the Lamb
Has your soul been cleansed and filled with love
If you have never met the One who saves our soul
Believe in Him for He has a home for us high above

Although we might tarry to call our Masters name
He still awaits your call from God's Heavenly place
Waiting to give you a mansion of beauty that's rare
Built by Him and filled with His love and His Grace

I know that one day His home shall also be mine
Where only the believers of Him will there abide
Goodness and happiness up there you shall find
Knowing our loving Savior will ever be by our side

If today God should call your name are you ready
To face your judgment and find where you will go
Be it to the land of unequaled love and friendship
Or to the lake of fire in the devil's hell down below

I Hear A Voice

 
As I wander through this life
I hear a voice from up above
It is shouting out my name
Filling up my heart with love

It is My Savior I hear calling
He wants to save my lost soul
If I listen to what He has to say
He again will make me whole

He has a place up there for me
I must listen  to Him every day
If I want to live up there in Glory
I must follow Him all the way

He has called and I must answer
Find the faith and to feel His love
Then I shall find my way to Heaven
To live in His mansion high above

One Of These Days

Let me walk through that peaceful valley
Where the stream flows wild and so free
Know that my Lord is walking beside me
His valley has much beauty for me to see

Banks of the stream shows lovely flowers
Many beautiful colors for our eyes to see
Majestic mountains reaching up to the sky
Flaming Red is seen on that tall Aspen tree

It is quiet is this valley as we walk there
Only the singing of birds do please our ear
Up along the mountains timberline is seen
A cub walking behind this large Black Bear

God has shown me all these things today
To Him I give all my love and all the praise
For it was His Son who has saved my soul
I'll meet Him in Heaven one of these days

The Same End

That old childhood church is still standing
Someone has decided to change the name
With the so many coats of paint on it now
To me it just don't seem to be the same

Boyhood years spent in that old Church
Brings back many good memories to me
We use cards to learn at Sunday school
Words and pictures for all us kids to see

I long to go back to those days gone past
In a world that seemed good and care free
It is a different world we are living in now
One that at times breaks my heart to see

It is so great to attend our church today
Where the people, members are a friend
Much like that church of many years ago
They both will bring us to the same end

An Afternoon Storm

I can hear the roaring of the thunder
As rain whips upon the window pane
Lightning flashes across the skyway
From the sky comes the falling rain

A mighty clap of thunder we can hear
Storm clouds ride low in the darken sky
Puddles of water form on the highway
Where just a few minutes ago was dry

As the storm passes to the East of us
Rumbling sounds can be faintly heard
Without heavy winds with this storm
Only rain has made leaves to be stirred

God knows why he gave us all this rain
It is needed to make all our crops grow
It also cooled what has been a hot day
Still I am very happy to see the storm go

Welcome Home

 
When we reach that Holy City in the sky
Jesus will meet us up at that Pearly gate
Trumpets will play to announce our arrival 
Seeing Heavens beauty was worth the wait

Never could we visualize here on Earth
What wonders that Holy Land will bring
God prepared the best for His children
Every day will be like a beautiful Spring

Angels, we will see playing their harps
As a choir sings their songs of great joy
So serene will be the this Eternal Land
God has provided for each girl and boy

We will see dazzling colors never seen
Bright will be Sunshine seen every day
Paths of His finest Gold we can walk on
Welcome home we shall hear Him say

One Of A Kind

Have we lost it all here in America
Have we strayed too far from God
Will His wrath destroy all this land
Will we lose this most precious sod

A land built upon Christian principals
Have we forgotten what made it great
It was with the help of God Almighty
This point I want to make real straight

Our forefathers were fine religious men
Who opened all meetings with a prayer
It seems we have forgotten who we are
Perhaps it is that we simply do not care

Some day there will be an answer to it all
Will this country then wake up only to find
God had been patient long enough with us
We will lose a country which is one of a kind

One day I know I will meet my savior
We will walk upon that Golden shore
His Grace has saved my wrenched soul
I will suffer all these pains never more

To honor and obey Him is my promise
Each day I will thank Him for my soul

Do you have that feeling for our God
Love Him and confess all of your past sin
You too can walk that pathway with Him
He will open up those gates and let you in

My home will be with Him up in Glory
Living in a mansion that is fit for King
I can feel all the love that He has for me

Each day brings me closer to Heaven
 It will be when life on Earth has gone
There to meet my Lord and my Savior
Walk with Him on Heaven's soft lawn

It is there I'll make my home forever
Up there where we will not grow old
See the land that will ever be eternal
Walk on a street made of pure Gold

Gather around to pray to God on high
See those who had gone on before us
Feel the comfort that Heaven affords
Meet our Lord and Holy Savior, Jesus

God has made us this wonderful place
He asks you believe in Him and pray
To honor his name, confess your sins
Will lead you up to Heaven one day

The Storm

I hear the roaring of the thunder
As God sends lightning in the air
Raindrops are now starting to fall
Small children it is starting to scare

I can hear the storm in all its fury
Large raindrops hit a window pane
Thunder so loud it shakes the Earth
Puddles form from the pouring rain

Wind is whipping against the house
As the rain falls heavily upon the roof
Another thunderclap is heard so loudly
Like it was made by a giant horses hoof

Rain is now coming in sheets of water
Pouring like buckets falling from the sky
I will sit and listen to all the noise it makes
I know not to ask our precious Savior why

God Is The Answer

There are times we will stumble and fall
Not knowing the direction we should go
We get off of the path that God gives us
We let ourselves wander both to and fro

That is the way the devil has to get to us
These times he will laugh at your failing
But if you will not listen to his many lies
Your life can be found as smooth sailing

God is the answer to all of your problems
Read the Bible and follow His Holy word
His love will lead you to an eternal Heaven
Angels play the sweetest music ever heard

God's plan for you is plain and you know it
Follow His teachings it will take you up there
To a great mansion found up there in Glory
An eternal home He has built high in the air

He is not only my maker, He is my friend

Although this life on Earth can be difficult
Keep in mind what is waiting for us ahead
God has built for us a grand home up there
Where we shall not find difficulty or dread

Jesus took on our sins if they were His own
He died upon that old cross for you and me
His blood washed away sins of the believers
He created Heaven, a Place we could be free

So if today should be the day He calls for me
They will place this Earthly body under the sod
Soon then to ascend up to my Heavenly Home
There to kneel at the throne of a loving God

This Evil World

Our world becomes more evil every day
Men putting the lust of money above it all
Stooping to whatever foul deeds they find
Not realizing from God's Grace they will fall

Yes they surely have great talents to show
If only they use them in a constructive way
Much more of the filthy lucre would be theirs
Instead it is a lifetime in Hell they will pay

It seems each day our world becomes smaller
High tech is one of the reasons why it's that way
Hackers can ruin computers with their knowhow
Then to correct it they want their victim's to pay

One day God will correct what is going on today
He will end this world and the sinners will go to hell
The rest of the ones who have believed in Him
Will be there to hear the ringing of Heaven's bell

Joy Of Knowing Jesus

When you are feeling so sad and lonely
Turn your eyes to our Lord up above
He will brighten even the saddest day
Then he will fill your heart full of love

Wonders are the joy of knowing Jesus
Though days are hard He stands by you
He hears our prayers and He will answer
Give Him your heart and then be true

Only Jesus can lead you up to Heaven
Throw away all worldly thoughts today
Give to Him your unrestricted attention
Tell Him of your love each time you pray

Should this be the day when He calls you
To enter His home He made for you and me
Be sure you have confessed all your sins
Believe in Him and live throughout Eternity

A Reward Of Faith

When the last breath of my life is gone
My soul will no longer be Earth bound
I will be on my way to the Eternal City
When I hear that great trumpet sound

There to meet Jesus, Savior of sinners
To walk and to talk with Him every day
See the beauty of His Eternal Kingdom
Know the joy of Heaven where we pray

Up there to live the perfect life like Him
Where long ago Lucifer was thrown out
Who then became a devil here on Earth
Angry because he didn’t have God’s clout

It is with great happiness we live up there
Forever in a life that has no ending you see
God has provided for us this perfect home
As a reward of faith to both you and to me

He Has Given

Gentle are the showers in April
Thunderstorms are seen in May
June brings warmth to the Earth
July is a good time to cut the hay

God has made for us the seasons
Each one different from the rest
Although times we might complain
We realize that God knows best

He gives us a time to till the soil
Then a time to plant all the crops
A time in which to take the harvest
A time of rest when the rain drops

I thank God for all of these seasons
Knowing He gave these times for us
But a most precious gift He has given

A Haven Of Peace

When your name is called from Heaven
Will you be prepared to answer His call
Have you confessed your transgressions
In front of our Savior will you stand tall

Be not ashamed of things you did before
But ask forgiveness for each wrong deed
Jesus died to cleanse you of all these sins
Belief in God Almighty is what you need

God made a haven of peace for believers
Where His disciples will gather each day
There to meet around His jeweled throne
Where they on bended knee begin to pray

One day I want to meet you in His Kingdom
Where there will be happiness without strife
