The grains of sand in our hourglass become fewer each day. There is no way to add sand and one day the last grain will fall. Be ready.

As the last grain of sand falls from your hourglass
Will you be prepared to meet your judgement day
Have you treated your neighbor with great respect
Walked on the straight and the narrow all of the way

Have you shown God all the love you have for Him
Is every prayer that you pray to Him, honest and true
You must if you want to live up in that glorious land
This decision to honor and obey Him is left up to you

If you find you must alter your way of living to please Him
Could this be a hard thing for you to do in your own way
You know he has taken all the sins you have committed in life
He did that when He died on the old rugged cross that day

Be thankful for Jesus Christ for He is your blessed Savior
It is only through Him that you can live your life eternally
Up in that wonderful land that He made high up in the sky
A place of beauty where He will welcome both you and me

I will be looking for a City
When life on Earth is gone
Beauty lies within that City
Fresh as the breaking dawn

This place He has offered
Even to a wretch like me
A home that's for eternity
Where I will be forever free

All I need to do, obey Him
Keep on that straight way
Let Him know how I love Him
He will Bless me every day

Seek out our great Savior
He will take your sins away
Stand up this day and ask Him

Eternally I Will Reside

After a day of much needed rain everything looks so clean and refreshing. The buds are popping on the trees and soon all of the landscape will be green. This is the time of the year God has all of the plants starting to come alive. My favorite time of the year. May God Bless you and yours.

When I face my last day on Earth
A seaside mansion is waiting for me
With inlaid platinum, gold and silver
It shall be my home for all eternity

God has made me a great promise
If I am ever trueful, faithful, and kind
Follow and respect all His teachings
A home up in Heaven I will then find

A place filled with love for everyone
For it is ruled by God our great King
He loves everything He has created
This love to my heart He does bring

What a day of rejoicing we will have
When we gather there at God's side
See all the beauty that He has made
This place where eternally I will reside

I am convinced that if the people that run our goverment would return to the principals that made this country great, we once again would find Grace from our dear Savior.

God please help the United States
We were once a jewell in your crown
It seems in the past fifty years or so
Many in our country has let You down

A country founded on religious rights
So many rights have been taken away
No longer are You worshipped by some
As a corrupt goverment wants it that way

If we don't stand up for our dear Savior
Tell the governing people what we think
Our rights we have will vanish some day
Deeper into the fire of hell we will sink

Tell everyone the story of sweet Jesus
Energize this country with Gods word
If we would only do this much for Him

My Love Letter To God

Tuesday night was the last night brother Charlie Orr was our guest. If you ever have a chance to hear him I know you will be blessed by his words. We at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church thank you so very much for the great sermons you gave us. If you ever get the opportunity to see and hear Charlie Orr it will be worth your while. Your love flows into my heart like a river
Each day these feelings grow even more
Knowing you are my dear Lord and Savior
You fill my world with wealth tho I am poor

This wealth is in knowing how I love you
Nothing could ever compare to your love
That day I can put my arms around you
Is the day we meet in that City far above

Your compassion for me is overwhelming
When I first met you I was a wretched sinner
It was then you talked to me about Heaven
You said in me that you had found a winner

May our love never become compromised
I know that demon devil can't keep us apart

Victory In Heaven

Easter is fast approaching and the drudgery of Winter will soon pass. It seems like it has been a long cold winter. God will soon paint the landscape with Springs beauty.

Lillies are the flowers of Easter
Day after Jesus Christ had died
On Calvary's Hill that sad day
People that so loved Him cried

Taken to a tomb they sealed
With a huge bolder that day
Next morning as they looked
That bolder had rolled away

His Earthly body was now gone
Ascending high up into the sky
Those still living here on Earth
Were wondering where and why

He had ascended to a mansion
Built by our dear precious God
Your home too can be in Heaven
After they lay you under the sod

You must put your trust in our God
Confess to Him sins that you have done
Then obey each of His commandments
If your victory in Heaven is to be won

Through Him

Brother Charlie Orr held services at our church Sunday. He did a great sermon. He will be with us on Sunday Evening at 6 O'clock, Monday and Tuesday at 7 O'clock. Load up the kids and join us, I know you will enjoy it.

He has told the story of Christ our Savior
You could feel the excitement in his talk

He told us about forgiving those that lie
See how much better then you will feel
Put your heart in the hands of God today

In this earthly world sin is overwhelming
Temptations abound almost everywhere
If you put faith in our everloving Savior
He will take you to Heaven's eternal care

Know that true friends will ever help you
They will help pull you from the pit of sin
God will forgive you for past transgressions
If you go through Him, Heaven will let you in

Joy of knowing God is so thrilling
He is beside me each day I live

On that day I first met our Lord

How happy I am for that great day

He told me of that place far away

Mansions there are White marble

Life is precious, so don't abuse it
Use it to know God much better
If you study your Bible ever day
You should read it letter by letter

Find the purpose you have in life
What has God made you suited for
Should you listen or should you talk
Put God in your heart for evermore

Your days can be either sad or glad
But if you know God you will feel joy
His love will find a way to your heart
Love Him like a child loves some toy

If a day comes when you need Him
You can find Him right by your side

As I sit at my computer this morning I dream of that beautiful land He has prepared for us. Isn't it a wonderful feeling?

Tell Him of all your gracious love
Ask Him to take your sins away

Anytime you need Him near you
You can whisper His sweet name
He will never be very far from you
He loves everyone just the same

Yesterdays sin vanishes quickly
If you tell Him of all of your sin
He shed His blood to cleanse us
Though not perfect have we been

For us to reach that land of Glory
We must listen to His every word
He alone can let us into Heaven

Looks like we will be going back to what March weather should be here in Southern Ohio. It was great while it lasted.

Way I Was Taught

Some days we wonder where He has gone
He should be here when our need is great
Aches and pain can wrack this fragil body
I know He is here by me, ever will He wait

I think back to what His son had endured
I feel so petty with my minor aches and pain
Knowing what He must have gone through
With all of His suffering, to me it is so plain

He was nailed to the cross for all of our sins
His blood will wash those sins from your soul
But remember what you must do to be sin free
Love and obey Him, then He will make you whole

There is a precious God up in the Heavens above
He hears every uttered word, knows every thought
His compelling love is sweet and so overflows me
I know He is the way, this is the way I was taught

Isn't it great to know when we leave this life, Heaven above waits for us.

These eyes will one day see glory
Around God's throne we will meet
With all the sweetness of Heaven
It is with joy that we fall at His feet

We know that He is Lord of Lords

As He takes us up into His Heaven
Happiness into our heart it brings

Be not fooled by the demon devil
He will lead you down a path of sin
Do not let him have your Earthly life
If that place in Heaven you want in

What a wonderful few days God has given us. It has been Spring like weather here in Southern Ohio. It seems as if the preview of Spring God has given us is over today with highs only in the 40's

What a beautiful weekend for early March. God has given us a preview of Spring. Looks so good after the long cold Winter we have seen.

Do you know who gave this life to you
Do you think you just happened to be
I know who put life in this body I have
It was God who put the breath in me

He took some dust and created man
It is not what some foolish men do say
Evolving from some kind of an animal
Those people will have a price to pay

In the Bible it tells all of the true facts
How Adam was the first created man
God knew Adam needed a companion
With a rib from Adam He made woman

God can create anything He wants to
From the highest mountain to the sea
Isn't it a wonder how He created us all
Mouth to speak, ears to hear, eyes to see

It is a warm Sunday morning as we now prepare to attend our church. Yesterday was warn also. I guess God is giving us a preview of Spring.


Abide By And Obey

We have a great friend in Jesus
He will take all of your sins away
Find comfort in all His teachings
They will lead to Heaven one day

He is the son of our almighty God
He died to take away all of our sin
A cruel death upon that old cross
So a place in Heaven we could win

His love will fill you to overflowing
It is up to you to give love in return
But if you turn your back on Jesus
It will be in hell's fire you will burn

Show Him of your faith that you have
Knowing of that land that is far away
If you abide by Him and then obey
To Heaven, He will show you the way

God Must Be Sad

If all of the world lived as they should and found peace in God, wouldn't this be a great world. Sadly this isn't to be.

God Must Be Sad

With the world's economy in such shambles
God up in Heaven must be shaking His head
To see the masses losing their place of work
Many now have given up and live with dread

He knows it was started by the greed of man
Their lust for the all mighty greenback Dollar
Has brought all of the poor men to their knees
Squeezing every dime from him they can collar

Is giving these institutions money the answer
Big bonuses have overextended the cash flow
Should poor people now have to bail them out
Is that the way their hard earned money will go

God saw all of this coming right from the start
When they no longer spoke His name in glory
Bar His teachings within all our public schools
He must find sadness in all of the world's folly

If only here in America we all could remember
On all of the principals this country was found
God at that time was revered by all the people
If we still loved Him our fortunes would abound

You can feel His love every day
Happiness will flow within you
Keeping that mean devil away

Jesus has removed every trace

When we gather on the shore
That is called the Golden Strand
Believers will be gathered there

I, like most of you are tired of this long cold Winter. I know Spring will be here soon (at least I hope).

Green Of Springtime

Refreshing are the thoughts of Spring
When grass turns from Brown to Green
As the Daffodils show their Yellow bloom
This becomes Springs first lovely scene

Soon we will see Red Bud and Dogwood
Green leaves will be growing on the trees
Wild flowers will be seen on the hillsides
A sight to most all eyes will surely please

So comforting are the days of early Spring
It seems as if the whole world is coming alive
We can see Blooms are bursting out all over
I thank God warm weather soon will arrive

Gone will be the doldrums of a nasty Winter
Bland hills will soon show their Green mantle
Beautiful are the sight we see in the Spring
At the end of this blustery month comes April

Grandparents

Although Janet and I have no children, so no grandchildren. But I do see the happiness in grandparents faces.

To see the innocence in a babys eyes
Makes one wonder what do they think
Unaware of any of the world problems
They stay warm and have milk to drink

Too soon babies turn into grownups
From the nest they will then depart
Looking for a mate to make their life
Winning one boys or one girls heart

Then they will look at their own baby
With the same questions they wonder
We will never know what they think
It does give you a thought to ponder

God created man to grow and multiply
Too pass their lineage on to their baby
So proud are the doting grandparents
Their grandchildren they love so dearly
