It is not eggs and bunnies we celebrate
On the Sunday that we call Easter day
It is the death and ascension of Jesus
From that tomb to Heaven so far away
God had sent Him down from Heaven
To hang on a cross for our earthy sin
He gave up life on this Earth that day
Then He went back to Heaven again
He has made it possible for all of us
To go up to His most Holy home on high
Believing and worshipping our Savior
Will forever keep our loving Jesus nigh
So hunting for colored eggs may be fun
Playing with ducks and bunnies is fine
Our reason for Easter is real and true
We celebrate a Son that is ever Divine

God's Son Rise Hill
Shawnee Hills Baptist Church has a camp that we call Son Rise Hill. We have 2 cabins a picnic shelter that is 30X40 with a kitchen and bathhouses. We are going to build more things there. We have both water and electric there. This is a poem about it.
On this early Spring morning
I take a walk along Son Rise Hill
Birds are singing a happy song
It seems as if time has stood still
It is here I can talk to my Savior
Uninterupted by the city's strife
Here with my Lord and I together
I feel a serene and peaceful life
God, we thank you for this land
We will use it to bring you Glory
We know it is your land we use
To us it is both precious and Holy
Let us use your land judiciously
Help us to bring children to God
May this Consecrated land ever
Be more than just a piece of sod

I Long For That Day
I long for that day when I shall meet Him
When all past sins have been cast away
Where we will all gather to hear our Lord
Speak to us on that most wonderful day
His Heaven then shall become our abode
For throughout all eternity we will there live
Never to worry or fret about anything there
To us it is His blessings that He shall give
I want to walk by the still waters with Him
Hear a distant choir sing in sweet harmony
Feel the warm breezes gently on my face
Know all the love that my Lord has for me
If only we believe and heed His words daily
Heaven's gates will be open to you and me
Up there we will find a life that's everlasting
At home with our Savior we shall forever be

Pastor Kenny
Pastor Kenny Estep is the pastor at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church Portsmouth Ohio.
We went to this small country church
You could meet God there at any hour
With His true love He gave from above
There we could feel God's great power
With our pastor who was Bible wise
Bringing us the word as it was written
All would listen to each word he said
Even the small kids were quietly sittin
He would ask if everyone was saved
If not he could tell them the right way
Ask the Lord to foregive all your sins
When you get on your knees and pray
He would ask we all leave with a smile
No grumpy Christian ever worships here
Be happy with the lessons learned today
Leave your soul in God's everlasting care

Forever To Stay
There will come a day of great rejoicing
When we gather around God's throne
There we'll see those who left before us
Knowing now we will never be left alone
I thank you God for showing me the way
In our daily talks you have made it clear
If I believe and follow all your teachings
I will find a life that is ever free from fear
God, you told me of that great mansion
That will be my home on that grand day
