Life In Heaven

As I walk with my Lord each day
I know now what He means to me
Free fron the sinful life I have led
I am so thankful He has let this be

Pulled from a shameful life I lived
He taught me the right way to go
Now free from bondage of a devil
This love for my Savior will grow

I believe and now He will help me
Keep the faith that has set me free
For only through Him I find Heaven
It is the way my Lord wants it to be

One day I shall live there in Heaven
It will be an Eternal life that I know
There where our love is so beautiful
I wonder how anyone could say no

Shall Be My worth

This morning I met Him at the brook
As we talked a smile was on my face
In the quietness that surrounded us
I knew why He chose this Holy place

My son, He said as He looked at me
There is another life that you can live
Far away I have built a Heavenly home
It is there an eternal life that I will give

Know and obey all my Commandments
Believe in everything the Bible does say
For without this Heaven can't be yours
You will fail on the great judgement day

His is the words of truth and He will judge
How I have followed Him here on Earth
If I have Honored Him and been trueful
A place up in Heaven shall be my worth

Will It Learn Us A Lesson

Is the tragedy at Newtown telling us something
We know God loved every child that was lost
Perhaps He allowed this loss of the little children
For the sins of an evil world, they paid the cost

A senseless act of a deranged animal some think
In a way I guess what they are saying might be right
It might be God is angry the way our country is doing
He might be punishing us with this dreadful sight

America will this wake you up or will you again forget
It was He that made this country what it was long ago
It was the belief in our Lord that our country was born
Our forefathers worshipped God and the country did grow

Today it seems as if evil deeds are happening every day
Where half crazed monsters kill seemly without any reason
Caring not who the victims are or what age they might be
How heart breaking this was, but will it learn us a lesson

I pray to God we will all wake up before it is much too late
Get God back into a country He has blessed through the years
If we continue to forget how He has made us a great country
There will be more of these killings that fill us with bitter tears

Don't You See

When I reach that land of Glory
No more trouble will I there see
I will meet my Lord and my Savior
We will walk along just Him and me

He will show me this land above
Heaven , it is called by that name
I lived my life down on the  Earth
Life up in Heaven is not the same

No worries, no sorrow will I see
For only happiness there abounds
We will see lovely gardens there
Beauty is seen on all the grounds

Forever in this land will I there live
In my God’s Kingdom I shall ever be
Never to miss a day of prayer again
I have trusted in God don’t you see

When my last breath is gone
My eternal life will then start
I will go see my Lord up there
Much love will be in my heart

For on this Earth I found Him
A  sinner who had lost his way
I trusted in Him and I am saved
I will ever thank Him for that day

After I climb that Golden stairway
I want to bow at my Savior’s feet
For I have met the devil head on
His sinful ways I went on to defeat

I now feel free and without worry
For I know Heaven is waiting for me
Jesus died on that old wooden cross
So I could be with Him for all eternity

He Will Say

 

In the quiet of the evening
I pause to reflect this day
I think of my Great Savior
Fall on my knees and pray

I thank Him for what He did
To save a wretch like me
Dying on a wooden cross
So that I in Heaven can be

I think of past sins foregiven
How He has restored my soul
Where I once was a sinner
He has made my life whole

It is with thanks that I pray
I want to see Him one day
There to hear His voice
Welcome son He will say

To God's Heaven

On this Earth we live but a short time
Heaven will become our eternal home
There we will live with our Lord forever
From God's land never shall we roam

There is no secret as how to get there
Read the Bible, it will us show the way
He will forgive us of our transgressions
If we will ask Him when we daily pray

God gave His Son to save us sinners
Jesus death was truly a terrible sight
Hung on that ugly wood cross that day
His death came before it become night

So beautiful is the Kingdom of Heaven
God has told us, and I believe it to be so
When I leave this sinful home on Earth
To God's Heaven is where I want to go

God's Land

After darkness comes eternal light
No more sorrow and no more pain
We will walk that Golden stairway
Heaven then will be our true gain

Gone from a land that is corrupt
To a mansion high in God's sky
Where no harm can come to us
For our God will forever be nigh

Up where the Sun fills up the sky
No darkness will we ever then see
He has made for us a home of rest
An eternal haven for you and for me

Happiness abounds In God's land
Where in His care we'll not grow old
God's love will flourish there forever
Love that can never be bought or sold

We will praise our Lord and Savior
As we pass through Heaven's door
When we all gather at God's throne
There will be joy on eternal's shore

When we see Jesus smiling face
Our eyes will then well up in tears
We know we have won our victory
With Him we will have eternal years

Heaven is the place we want to go
For it is there our peace will ever be
No problems will beset us up there
Happiness we'll find for you and me

It's a comfort for us to know He waits
Until we are called on that bright day
To climb those Golden stairs to Heaven

Ask Him To Forgive You

Do you feel that you are unworthy
Think that your have no place to go
Turn your thoughts up to the Savior
Feel your faith in Him begin to grow

He will forget the sinful life you led
Confess and ask Him to forgive you
Walk with Him and pray every day
To your Lord you must ever be true

What a pleasure to worship our Lord
Knowing that you are on the right path
That one day Heaven will be your home
You will never feel God's mighty wrath

His is a place of comfort for all the days
No worries there can ever come your way
Time will have no place there in Heaven
We will find no clocks to measure the day

Is God Angry With The USA

God must be telling the USA something
With a mega storm tearing at our country
People losing it all, even some losing life
Were we to think that this could never be

Could He be angry we have taken Him
Out of public places where He isn't seen
This country founded on our belief in God
Now we see people thinking this is routine

Are we being punished for our missgivings
Is this a way to wake up our country today
If we want to save this great Country of ours
We must get down on our knees and pray

There is great diversion in the USA this day
A devil is tearing our country completely apart
Wake up now before it becomes much too late
Just remember how this Country got its start

In the waning hours of the daylight
Our hours of work are over this day
As we prepare to retire to our bed
We must get on our knees and pray

We must tell Him of our great love
How our belief will ever remain strong
Ask for forgiveness for transgressions
Believing in Him can never be wrong

A refreshing nights sleep is soon over
Another day to be filled with His praise
Guiding our pathway to that Holy Land
Where our spiritual body will there raise

We know that He will be there waiting
To welcome us to our mansion that day
We will see our old friends up in Glory

Show me the way to go home my Lord
Let me find your perfect pathway there
I know that you have prepared it for us
There we will find your ever loving care

This home will be mine through eternity
Why would I ever want to leave or stray
He has provided everything that I need
With my Blessed Lord I will forever stay

With each day more pleasant than before
We shall enjoy life with Sweet Jesus there
Forever to share His love and His goodness
To live in our Fathers house with His care

Gone are all evil thoughts up in Heaven
Compassion and love will surely abound
His voice will lead us in prayer each day

God's Loving Care

When my twilight years are over
I will then leave this human race
Then find an eternal life with Him
There I will know His loving Grace

Not one day shall I ever be lonely
He will ever be there by my side
It is in His Holy City I will see Him
We shall walk along the rolling tide

When I will go up there I don't know
It will be His choice of time and place
He has it written in His book of time
A time that I cannot change or erase

If you love and believe in our Saviour
A home He has prepared for you there
In that land of eternal life made for you
You shall ever be in God's loving care

Just how much sweeter could it be
When I see my Savior there with me
As we stroll on that Golden Strand
Our eternal lives will ever be grand

Faith in His teachings I do believe
He tells us all of a much better land
Where we can live in eternal Grace
All of this built with God's Holy hand

You can't see Him but He is there
Always knowing your state of mind
He loves you now and will forever
You will find He is gentle and kind

I see the mountains and the valleys
Oceans deep and the skies of blue
All of these thing we have on Earth
He has made for both me and you

One Of A Kind

It wasn't Jack Frost who painted this land
This morning the grass had a coat of White
It was done only by God's unyeilding hand
As I was sleeping God painted it last night

God does may things we don't think about
He gives us rain to wet the parched ground
A cool breeze on a humid summer afternoon
We cannot see Him but He is always around

His love for us is and will forever be amazing
We can break all of His comandments at will
He still will forgive all of our past sins anyway
Believing in Him we know this will fill the bill

So if you get something that you really need
Think my friend and then I am sure you'll find
It was God Who did this thing as only He can
He is a loving God and He is only one of kind

Treat You Well

Walk with me up those Golden stairs
See a world never seen by mortal man
Know that God has prepared this place
It has all been done by His careful plan

If you believe and follow His directions
He will take you up there one great day
Where you will never have any worries
Pay attention to anything He has to say

Make sure all of your tomorrows are true
For then a land of promise will yours to be
Never change your true love for your Savior
His home up in Heaven one day you'll see

Every person on Earth has a choice to make
If they do spend eternity in Heaven or in Hell
Follow the teachings of our Lord and Master
Then find a life in Heaven will treat you well

In My Garden Of Roses

As the bright rays of the Sun peek out
I stand in my garden of Roses this day
I have come here to speak to my Savior
First I must get on my knees and pray

I know He has been right here with me
No sound has He made to let me know
He awaits these prayers from my heart
Lifting up my head I know where to go

He walks beside the pretty Red Roses
I hear His soft gentle voice guiding me
Telling me He is the sacred redeemer
That only through Him will I be set free

My heart is so light as he keeps talking
Telling me of this place that's far away
Where He has prepared a home for me
There I shall live an eternal life one day

If today you feel despondent
Our Lord will see you through
Believe in all of His teachings
Is something that you must do

Call on Him, He will hear you
Be it day or middle of the night
All things evil you have done
Confession will make them right

God has this unlimited power
To restore a wrong to a right
Tell Him about all your sins
He will forgive you on the site

Never doubt God's existence
Just look and see He is here
In flowers, animals and trees
Yes look for He is everywhere

My Friend Jesus

When there are no more tomorrows
Knowing we will be gone after today
To that beautiful land called Heaven
To meet God on that Golden pathway

Although my life has been so sin filled
Jesus Christ is now my very best friend
I know His is the only and the right way
To have eternal life as this life does end

Our pains and sufferings are nothing
Compared to what Jesus went through
He died on the cross upon Mt Calvary
To save all sinners both me and you

If you have never met my friend Jesus
He would love to talk to you on this day
He will never be to busy to listen to you

Our lives on this old Earth will soon be over
We then shall meet Jesus on the other shore
Where joy and happiness shall reign forever
Heartaches and sorrow for us will be no more

There we will meet our creator with a lots of love
Hear the singing of the blessed angels every day
Gather around His great Throne up there in Glory
Feel the passion flowing every time that we pray

But we must be wise in what we choose on Earth
Always listen to what our Great Savior is saying
Tell Him your heart is filled with love for Him always
Tonight would be a good time when you are praying

On this day will you make a promise to our God
That with thoughts of that great place in the sky
You will obey all of His commsndants and wishes
Heaven will be your eternal home just give it a try

In Heaven One Day

I have this heart full of love for Jesus
Ever since that day that we first met
He has told me that I will be with Him
He hasn't gone back on His word yet

His has a Kingdon that is full of Glory
Where there is life throughout eternity
He has built mansions of pure marble
These homes for both you and for me

Never shall we need more than Him
He will stand by us forever and more
No illness shall we see up in Heaven
It's a beautiful place we all will adore

I'm happy I have met and seen Him
My life has been changed every way
If every person would obey the Lord
We would see then in Heaven one day

Peaceful Paradise

As the gentle winds blow over the palm trees
White fleecy clouds are seen high up above
This day in a peaceful paradise we so enjoy
Knowing we are surrounded by God's love

We hear the sounds of the waves breaking
As they wash upon the white sandy shore
God has given this day to reflect and wonder
Heaven must be like this perhaps even more

Beauty seen on this tropical island abounds
Multi colored birds fly high up in the treetops
Flowers of all colors and hues can be seen
It seems the beauty of this island never stops

We thank the Good Lord for this lovely island
But we know He has something better above
My prayers are that He will take me with Him
To a place that is filled with His undying love

Has brightened my world today
Soon the seeds will become ripe
It will be hard to keep birds away

Each day it is my deep pleasure
To see these wonders God made

He knows if the flowers will bloom
Or if the plant will slowly pass away
His work we can see each morning

A Beautiful Scene

As the waves crash on the unyeilding rocks
Spray flies high into the warm Summer air
Having this feeling of an inner contentment
Knowing I shall ever be in my Savior's care

Beauty is shown as it was meant to be seen
Only sounds are waves beating on the rocks
Unyeilding the high waves keep on moving
Never slowed by time that is seen on clocks

I can feel the strength of our God on this day
As I look at the beautiful scene He has made
Only His hands could create this work of art
Work throughout the years that will not fade

This day I know I need Him to save my soul
His way is the only way to find an eternal life
In His land we shall ever be completely free

As the water falls into the pool below
I feel this inner peace within my soul
Another beautiful scene made by God
It's wonderful knowing He is in control

He has made the forrest with the trees
A Sun that brighten up a pale blue sky
He made this land for both you and me
If you think you will know the reason why

He has told us there is a far better place
It's is a wonderful city we can all live in
I know He gave His only begotten Son
To save us from the deadly wages of sin

As I look at the waterfall and surroundings
I know only God could make these things
To suggest that they were made another way

When life on Earth is gone and over
My trip to the Eternal shore will begin
Up on God's great Kingdom I'll arrive
I will meet with my friends once again

He gave me the Hope that I needed
I had a great fear I might let Him down
But He gave His Son to take my sins
One day in Heaven I'll wear a crown

Happiness will be mine on that day
When His throne we gather around
Tears will slowly fall down my cheeks
When I hear those trumpets sound

I have heard and understand His voice
When He talks to me from far up above
I shall follow His every call He gives me

Time will wither those Red Roses
But can't dim my love for the Lord
Everyone must deal with feelings
Give Him love, you will be adored

He stands with you so take heed
You must to him honor and obey
Believe in His promises and listen
He will guide you when you pray

He is to be honored as King of Kings
Nothing less is a dishonor to Him
His Son died to wash your sins away
Without Him future life would be dim

If tomorrow you find it's slipping away
Get down on your knees and you pray
You will not wither like the Red Roses
You will find your Home one bright day

He Is The Only God

Standing by the frozen Lake this morning
I can see a rare beauty that is mine alone
White mountain tops rise high into Heaven
Trees laden with snow in this winter's zone 

Like a merryland of fun for all the skaters
Ice that would hold even the heavest man
It is here I can enjoy the quietness of day
This was all made according to God's plan

Here I can meet my savior and we can talk
He tells me of a home I can live in one day
Where there will be no illness or any sorrow
Where we can spend all eternity that way

Isn't God wonderful to all us mortal creatures
He gave up His Son so we might be sin free
Giving us a place where we can prove to Him
He is the only God to worship for you and me

In Touch With God

A giant wall of water cascades into a pool below
Tiny drops of spray are caught by the sun's rays
Showing us a kaleidoscope of colors so beautiful
If these were man made it would take many days

With a roar the water falls on to the rocks below
Splashing water that goes high up in to the sky
Then forms a fog like cloud down at the bottom
Covering what can be seen by any man's eye

God has made so many things of great beauty
Some we wonder how He made them at all
Still we realize how much power our God has
He has made all things both great and small

We wonder why every one can't understand
It is with Him we must trust and we must pray
For us to find a better home up there in Heaven
We must keep in touch with God every day

It's Worth

A shroud of fog lifts from the landscape
Showing dazzling colors of the tall trees
Painted by the Masters hand so pristine
Each tint so exact and made to please

We hear sounds of birds this morning
Winged creatures that God made to fly
Darting to and fro among the tall trees
All of this beauty as the sun fills the sky

Rays of the early sun radiates the leaves
I see many colors yet some are still Green
God will paint these when they are ready
They will be the prettiest shades ever seen

While standing here in this beautiful sitting
I am reminded how perfect God made Earth
Everything He has put here is for our use
Yes, everything He put here has it's worth

God's Isle

As the sun sinks on this tropicial isle
Peace is felt by all that are living here
A light wind causes the palms to sway
Without a doubt it is paradise to share

As the moonlight casts long shadows
Hiding the night creatures in the dark
In the distance a bird's mate is calling
From a bonfire up goes another spark

A luau feast is being prepared tonight
Stringed music we will get to hear soon
Dancing will then be seen by the firelight
Looking like sillouettes cast by the moon

It is here God has made so much beauty
Flowers of rare colors seen all over this Isle
Just think if He made this place beautiful
It's sure that Heaven will make you smile

His Waterfalls

As the water cascades down the mountain
A loud roar is heard as water falls far below
Foam is seen where it splashes into a pool
Then onward down the mountain it will flow

Strange patterns have been carved by water
Mountain sides look as they had been hewn
By years of pounding by the savage weather
Perhaps it was caught up in a large monsoon

We can see moss grow on the mountain sides
There are a few scrub trees also growing there
So peaceful it is to live up in these mountains
No pollutions here to poison this rarefied air

God made this place of perfect beauty for us
Skillfully He has shown His awesome power
His detail work is nothing short of perfection
From this mountain to His most danity flower

Old Grist Mill

 This poem was written from the painting on the front of Shawnee Baptist Church bulliten dated Sept 4 2011


Creaking sound from that old grist mill
Is so much louder than the waterfall
We see emblazoned trees standing
High upon the hill they seem so tall

Seeing this beautiful scene He made
Makes me think back into a younger day
When things were so different back then
We were with God, not come what may

Today, it is a different world we live in
With no regard to the feelings of others
We should realize we need His strength
To help us as we are sisters and brothers

This old grist mill is much like our bodies
It will one day wear out and then fall apart
But unlike that old mill we will live eternally
But only if we have Jesus Christ in our heart

God's Garden

So peaceful is the garden this morning
Shafts of Sunlight shine on the flowers
My mood is such this beautiful morning
I want to stay here for many long hours

For it is here I know God spends time
I can feel His presence here this day
He made a place where I can worship
Where I can get on my knees and pray

This wonderful site He has given us
Where the colors are of different hues
I can see the Reds, Yellows, and Pinks 
There are many different shade of Blues

I see the park seat is empty right now
Afternoons and evenings it will be filled
They will come to see what God made
Before frost and the flowers are killed

Turn your eyes up to the sky
Speak in a voice that is so clear
Knowing that with all of His love
That your Savior shall ever hear

He will be your guide all the time
Listen to each word He has to say
Your true love will bring you home

For it was the whole world He made
Know through Him you can be saved
This thought you should never let fade

If you world is so sad and lonely
Look around you'll find Him there

What beauty we shall all share

Will be seen there in all their glory
Beauty of everything that we see

There we will greet our neighbors
When we see them strolling along

Knowing God will show us His best

Don't Forget To Pray

Is your life now confused and bleak
Your heart filled with so much sorrow
Tell your Lord just how you feel today
He'll give that promise for tomorrow

When the days are dark and gloomy
There is not any place you can hide
Just look to Heaven that is far above
You will find it is God you can abide

Look around and you will find Him
He is ever near and will talk to you
His Heaven can also be your home
Make sure you heart is forever true

No reason to feel alone and lonely
God shall stand by you all the way
His love will make you oh so happy

Each home game the Cincinnati Reds play we can chat with Hal McCoy, a Baseball Hall of Fame member. After the game on 7/17/12 I wrote this poem.



I wonder if there is baseball in Heaven
Surely a runner wouldn't attempt a steal
No spitball or shine balls would be there
Would there be trades or any kind of deal

If there is I hope only God is the umpire
No mistakes would we see him ever make
He would ever have made the perfect calls
No reruns on Heavens TV would they take

What would God do to a manager Like Lou
Kicking dirt on that Heavenly Home Plate
I am sure He wouldn't be too harsh on him
If Lou could get through that Golden Gate

Wouldn't it be wonderful to read Hal's blog
I just wonder if God would permit him a cigar
What a chat we all could have up in Heaven
As we watch our team win from wire to wire

Church Camp

Our church had camp days for the children at our campgrounds named Son Rise. These two  poems are about the kids there and then when camp days were over.

  Camp Days

We see the children as they play
They are laughing and having fun
Some like to play pitch and catch
Other see how fast they can run

They are gathered here at camp
To learn many blessings of God
God loves all of His little children
He lets you play on this Holy sod

These days here are so important
Learning the special feeling of joy
Hearing messages from Pastor Ken
Know God loves each girl and boy

Knowing that you will pay attention
To words that your Bible has to say
You too can go to the Promised Land
There to meet Jesus one bright day

Leaving Camp

Happy days all of the children saw
As they were up at camp Son Rise
Laughing and having so much fun
What they saw was a great surprise

They learned of the goodness of God
How they can get to Heaven one day
That they should read the Bible daily
Never forget that they must also pray

Coming away with an understanding
Of how to get along with each other
Also to have compassion and love
Treat each other like a sister or brother

Many lessons they have now learned
Living together as if they are one family
May they remember throughout their life
This is the way God always wants it to be

Lovely hymns flowing through my mind
Hearing What A Friend We Have In Jesus

Amazing Grace shows much of His power
Leaning On The Everlasting Arms is comfort
How Great Thou Art is like a fresh shower

Church In The Wildwood heard in childhood
Gives me memories of that can bring a tear
Washed In The Blood Of The Lamb I remember
Where Could I Go But To The Lord was so dear

I can feel great happiness as I am mowing
God is riding with me on this old John Deere
He walks with me now as I am on this Earth
He knows I will sing a Hymn to Him up there

This Nation

Surely God's heart must be broken
Just how much more can He stand
He gave us everything in the USA
Now He is hardly known in this land

I brush away a tear as I think about it
Freedom was once a precious thing
Today we think of where it is going
We worry of what the future will bring

He made this nation into a great one
Our forefathers knew this to be true
They never forgot to praise him daily
Leaders of the Red, White, and Blue

We all need to get together and think
How can we get Him to Bless us again

Does your life drift like a ship at sea
Guided only by the winds that blow
Do you see clouds upon the horizon
Does the rain seem to come and go

Do you hear the roar of the thunder
See streaks of lightning in the sky
Feel the waves that toss your boat
Afraid this dark night but wonder why

Are your sails working the right way
Do you know how you should steer
Have you looked up to Heaven today
Talked to God you know He will hear

Loneliness will find you there at night
Left alone without hope to find your way
God can help you find the distant shore

God's Beautiful Land

As the Sun reflects off yonder mountain
A sea of wild flowers are growing below
High upon that mountain we see ahead
It is very cold and is covered with snow

So serene is the land on this bright day
Beauty is seen as far as the eye can see
Treelines of pine growing in the distance
Cast shadows that seem so wild and free

An Azure Blue sky frames this lovely scene
Created by our Savior so make no mistake
His hand has made this incredible scenery
Wonder what sights in Heaven He did make

One day I will see that grand place up above
Where all believers shall meet one great day
We will kneel at the feet of our blessed Savior
Happiness will surround us as we begin to pray

On This Earth

On this earth so much beauty He has shown
This tropical isle with waving palm trees galore
Flowers that have colors both soft and glowing
Sandy beaches we can walk on and much more

Skies of Azure Blue show a cloudless morning
A warm breeze fills the air on this a perfect day
We sit transfixed absorbing the beauty He made
As the waves from the ocean splash and spray

When day is done and night falls over the isle
Moonlite casts shadows from the tall palm trees
God made this isle for us to see and understand
He is our Savior the One that we want to please

I know this is not Heaven but almost perfection
There is much more beauty up there we will see
He has made Heaven without any imperfections
I can only smile as I visualize just how it will be

Mirrored Lake

Beneath the mighty mountain top we see
Reflections mirrored on a deep blue lake
Of tall pines growing out to reach the sky
This is beauty that only God could make

Quiet it is this bright and warm Spring day
Broken only by a large Hawk's loud scream
Who is searching for a dinner of tasty Trout
On the melting snow fed sparkling stream

God made this place for us to enjoy the beauty
Where we can relax and lay our burdens away
Look at the magnificence of this great wonder
Could anyone believe it happened another way

As I sit here in this majestic near perfect scene
I wonder just how beautiful His Heaven will be
Without doubt He will show us a masterpiece
As with wide eyes His home in Heaven we see

Each Sunday

That little white Chapel I do remember
Nestled among those tall Maple trees
Sundays were special to us back then
We were young and wanted to please

We always beat the first bell to church
Wanting to get a seat on that back pew
There we would hear the pastor's sermon
Then be the first to go as he got through

We would wait outside for the pretty girls
Wanting to talk but not knowing what to say
They would smile as they passed by us
Some how that seemed to make my day

That little white Chapel is still standing
Calling to us sinners to come in and pray
These many years have passed and gone
But thank God I still go there each Sunday

Straight From Your Heart

From the deepest depth of the sea
To the highest mountain in the sky
God has given us so much beauty
Sometimes it brings a tear to my eye

He has given us fish from the seas
From which we can be fed each day
Grain we planted in His fertile fields

He devised these ways for us to live
Throughout life's many tribuiations
Then we can be given an eternal life
If we would fill all of our obligations

If you have never met and talked to God
Today would be a perfect time to start

Mountain Beauty

As I was looking at a church bulletin dated Mar 11 2012
I saw a painting on the front cover. This is what I saw.

As the water trickles from melting snow
Down the mountain on a trip to the sea
We see a waterfall churn up misty spray
As it drenches a small seedling pine tree

More magnificent than any of our dreams
He has carved a place for the water to flow
Splashing as the stream moves downward
Near the bottom the faster it seems to go

This beautiful view only God could make
No man made scene could ever compete
With a blue sky showing no clouds above
Snow on the mountain makes it complete

Seeing all this fantastic beauty I am in awe
It's now I wonder what Heaven has in store
Knowing I can only wait until He calls me
That day I will not have to wonder any more

Today this new dawn has arrived
One filled with promise and hope
Showing us there is a bright future
From darkness we now can cope

With God's help you can make it
No problem can ever be too tall
His power can be overwhelming

His promise of an everlasting life
Written in the Bible for us to see
Tells of a land He named Heaven
This place where we all want to be

If you believe in Him and trust Him

Lord, we thank you for Karen's Place
Where saved lives can there be found
Freed from their life filled with torment
These young ladies are Heaven bound

Drugs if legal or got from off the street
Had seized both their soul and mind
What was once a brilliant young lady
With drugs a life of misery they did find

Only their belief in God has saved them
A program that has made them drug free
A miracle that God promised came true
Seeing them today has proved that to me

I pray to God Karen's Place will survive
May those who are addicted seek aid
God never meant for drugs to be abused
I believe that rotten devil had them made

Final Judgment Call

Today more Flag draped Coffins will arrive
Bringing young men from that dreadful war
It is with disdain that I see this happening
I don't think my heart can stand it anymore

Why are they sent over to that foreign land
It certainly isn't to protect this land of the free
We should not be the world's police force
Problems should not be put on you or me

We send young people off to fight a war
Not knowing just how many will be killed
Yet we send our factories over the seas
Our young people are much more skilled

Lust for money we know is what it is about
But tell me if you can are lives worth it all
One day we will see who is up in Heaven
When God has that final judgment call

As You Pray

I see thousands of White crosses
Dotting that rolling lush Green field
Brave souls have been buried there
Fighting hard they would not yeild

Love of country kept them fighting
Until that day God called their name
Sent home in a flag adorned coffin
We wonder who would they blame

Wars are always hard to understand
It seems as if the devil starts them all
Pitting men against their fellow humans
Laughting as he sees each man fall

Our lives are much like going to war
Fighting the devil with each passing day
If you believe in our God He will save you

Once A Proud Nation

Once A Proud Nation

God must be weeping up in Heaven
Looking down on this land of the free
What was once a God fearing country
Have now turned their back on Thee

They came here to be able to worship
Men and women those many years ago
Finding a Nation that believed in God
I wonder where these principals did go

With our leadership in deep moral decay
Saying same sex marriage is now alright
What once was a beautiful nation thriving
Is now full of the devil and his ugly blight

Where is God Bless America these days
Hidden somewhere in the annals of time
To be forgotten and never be remembered
As the USA turns itself into stinking slime

We deserve something much better than this
Turn back to God as this Country once knew
Then we can say that we are a proud Nation
This land of the Red, White, and of the Blue

Standing Near By

As I enter these hallowed doors
I can find my Savior waiting there
He, who saved my soul from Hell

I pick up and read the Holy Bible
It tells everything I need to know
All the pages are filled with truth

That Pristeen City

As I sit here and look in awesome wonder
Seeing all the wonderful things He has made
Beautiful flowers that dot the wooded hillside
Perfection is His it's seen even in a grass blade

Mighty Maples show leaves in deep splendor
Which His brush paints both Yellow and Red
I see tall Pine trees reach out to touch the sky
In a Hickory a squirrel has made a cozy bed

I marvel at the meticulous way He made things
They all are made to work in complete harmoney
Oxygen is needed for all us humans to function
We find oxygen is created from leaves of a tree

With this perfection He has made here on Earth
Don't you really want to see what Heaven will be
Believe what He has said and always be faithful
One day that pristine Heavenly City you will see

My Dear Mother

Only one we will have in a lifetime
She could kiss a cut and make it well
If we were scared she will comfort us
If we were sick she could always tell

She was the one who cared for us
She would always do her very best
She held us in her arms as a baby
At times I wonder if she took a rest

She never let us stray far from her sight
She would get up from a deep slumber
Checking on us during the dark of night

As I have scaled that tallest mountain

Easter On Son Rise Hill

Our Church has a youth camp on a farm the church owns. It has 2 cabins that has A/C and holds 25. 1 for boys and 1 for girls. We have power and water, a 30x40 shelter an enclosed kitchen and bath houses. We held our Easter sun rise services there. We have named it Son Rise Hill in honer of the Son.

As the sun rises on Easter morning
We stand on God's hallowed ground
So quiet are all of the surroundings
Only singing birds break the sound

We are here to Celebrate His rising
From the tomb to His celestial home
Where we all want to meet one day
Then never again shall we ever roam

It is here on this hill named for Him
We gather to glorify His sacred name
Son Rise Hill, named to Honor Him
He, who took all our sins as His blame

May this hill remain a symbol of love
Unforgettable to all believers in God
Never to maim or in any way destroy
This a most precious part of His sod

It Is One Of A Kind

Today as I walk along the wooded hillside
I am reminded the cross came from a tree
Sent by His Father to spend time on Earth
He died on a cross so we could be sin free

Wages of sin is death and this we all know
He took on our sins as His own on that day
Hanging on that terrible cross in much pain
He paid the price we would have had to pay

Entombed, He rolled away that large stone
Then He Ascended up to His Heavenly Land
There to await all of the believers of His word
To walk along with Him on that Golden Strand

Give me the choice of being up there with Him
No other place will give me an uncluttered mind
Beauty replaced the ugliness of Mount Calvary
We find happiness in Heaven, it is one of a kind

My Reason For Easter

It is not eggs and bunnies we celebrate
On the Sunday that we call Easter day
It is the death and ascension of Jesus
From that tomb to Heaven so far away

God had sent Him down from Heaven
To hang on a cross for our earthy sin
He gave up life on this Earth that day
Then He went back to Heaven again

He has made it possible for all of us
To go up to His most Holy home on high
Believing and worshipping our Savior
Will forever keep our loving Jesus nigh

So hunting for colored eggs may be fun
Playing with ducks and bunnies is fine
Our reason for Easter is real and true
We celebrate a Son that is ever Divine

God's Son Rise Hill

Shawnee Hills Baptist Church has a camp that we call Son Rise Hill. We have 2 cabins a picnic shelter that is 30X40 with a kitchen and bathhouses. We are going to build more things there. We have both water and electric there. This is a poem about it.

On this early Spring morning
I take a walk along Son Rise Hill
Birds are singing a happy song
It seems as if time has stood still

It is here I can talk to my Savior
Uninterupted by the city's strife
Here with my Lord and I together
I feel a serene and peaceful life

God, we thank you for this land
We will use it to bring you Glory
We know it is your land we use
To us it is both precious and Holy

Let us use your land judiciously
Help us to bring children to God
May this Consecrated land ever
Be more than just a piece of sod

I Long For That Day

I long for that day when I shall meet Him
When all past sins have been cast away
Where we will all gather to hear our Lord
Speak to us on that most wonderful day

His Heaven then shall become our abode
For throughout all eternity we will there live
Never to worry or fret about anything there
To us it is His blessings that He shall give

I want to walk by the still waters with Him
Hear a distant choir sing in sweet harmony
Feel the warm breezes gently on my face
Know all the love that my Lord has for me

If only we believe and heed His words daily

He brought us the message on Sunday night
With a voice that was filled with deep conviction
He let us know that it's God we can never slight

He spoke of the love we must have for our Lord
For we must keep Him ever at the top of our list
Never to worship false idols or any other thing
To do so our home in Heaven could be missed

No thoughts can be greater than one for our God
For only He can put you on the road that is right
If you only pray to Him and believe in His teaching
You will feel the Holy Spirit through God's might

Lord show me the serene beauty of that valley
Let me see where all lovely flowers there grows
Tell me where I can find the multi colors blooms
I want to see those dew drops on a Yellow rose

God I know how perfect is the valley you created

It's prefection made only by your skilled hands
No other could duplicate it for it's one of a kind

God Will Open Heaven

When I clinb that great tall mountain
My life on this Earth then will be over
There I'll see the gateway to Heaven
Where the fields are sweet with clover

No site on Earth can compare with it
So serene shall be God's Holy Land

On Earth we could never know what

There will come that day when He calls me
Up to that land we called the sweet forever
There I will meet those I studied in His Bible

Believe was one of His words I can remember

Be wary of that demon devil, He said to me
Because his sinful life you can never afford

He has endowed me with a feeling of comfort
Knowing He will keep me safe from all harm
His words sooth me when I feel trouble about
With Him I shall never be brought to alarm

So much happiness will come to me that day
When from this old sinful world I shall depart
There to live that eternal life with my Savior

Does the thought of dying scare you
Are you wondering where you will go
If you know our Father up in Heaven
You don't wonder, but you truly know

So many now are in doubt of eternity
Not knowing what sweet joy can bring
When we all gather around the throne
There to meet our great God, the King

Death from this life will be a blessing
For all of us who know His great name
He has given us a promise we can live
In that Great City from where He came

My Valentine 2012

My wife found this poem in her valentine card I sent her

You won my heart that night I met you
Since then my love for you has grown
A beautiful lady with a smile so great
You are the nicest lady I have known

Years haven't dimmed my love for you
They have enhanced my love all ways
Knowing you in these years together
Has brightened the hours of the days

Past years have been pleasant ones
Satisfaction I have found now in my life
I could search whole wide world over

His Everlasting Love

There are times I think about my childhood
How content I was those times so long ago
When not worries or cares would enter life
Too soon out of that kind of world I did grow

Then finding that times could be very harsh
Not knowing on which road I should travel
Confused as to what was right from wrong
It seemed as if my whole life would unravel

Liquor and wine couldn't slove my problems
They only added to my troubles and my woe
A down and out miserable wretch back then
Not knowing in what direction I should go

One day I saw the light that He showed me
Beckoning me from a land that is far away
A voice that was like a loud clap of thunder
That said get down on your knees and pray

What a wonderful life He has shown to me
Blessing with many gifts from far up above
Knowing I am that man God wants me to be
Since He filled me with His everlasting love

From Earth To Heaven

When you become tired and so weary
Turn to the one who will help you today
He will save your soul from that firey pit
Lead you to a City that is a prayer away

He died on that cross up on Calvary Hill
That you could be absolved of your sin
Open your mind and your heart to Him
Some day your life in Heaven will begin

Glory shall follow you into His Kingdom
No strife or troubles There shall you see
He will protect you from all evil doings
In that City He has built for you and me

Get down on your knees and talk to Him
He will hear every prayer you have to say
Know that He will be there waiting for you
As you go from Earth to Heaven that day

He Paid Your Debt

Know the joy that fills your heart
When you talk to the Lord above
Peace will enter within your soul
As you feel His everlasting love

On blissful mornings I can feel
Comforting reassurance as I go
To meet with my Lord and Savior
It's there my Faith will ever grow

Don't be distracted by the devil
For his aim is to keep you in sin
Honor your Heavenly Father now
In Heaven He will let you come in

Talk with God and He will listen
Tell Him of past sins you regret
His blood has washed them away
On the cross He paid your debt

My Lord With Me

If you talk to God in faithful prayer
He will listen to the words you say
Honor Him and feel the Holy Spirit
That's within you every living day

He will show you the way to Heaven
It is not really that hard you will know
Pick up your Holy Bible and read it
Heed it and up to Heaven you will go

He hasn't made it hard to meet Him
Fall down on your knees and find
He is willing to talk to you any time
In a voice that is soothing and kind

Make no mistake He is your Savior
He will show you the way to Eternity
Up in that land of the sweet forever
There you will find my Lord with me

This Very Day

When I walk with my sweet Lord
These feelings come once more
Knowing my heart is pure as snow
I will meet Him on the Golden shore

There to Praise His precious name
Knowing all of His words are so real
In the Bible He shows us the way
Read it and the way He will reveal

His love for everyone is very strong
Wanting you with Him in Heaven there
In His devine Kingdom you will live
Without any worry and never a care

If you just drag your two feet along
This great opportunity may fade away
Seek revival down deep in your heart
No better time to start than this very day

Sharing

As a white blanket covers the ground
We know that Winter has now come
With all of their food sources buried
Wont you share with a bird a crumb

To share will bring to you joy untold
For He is watching with a broad smile
He knows what lies deep in your heart
But I guess you knew that all the while

Do not hoard more than you can use
Keep just enough so you can survive
You will find the door to Heaven open
On that great day when you do arrive

All things shared with others will return
Many blessings from our Lord up above
Sharing will give to us a great pleasure
When the sharing is given with our love

Tender Loving Care

There is a land where there is no failure
Only truth and honestsy will there prevail
He built this Kingdon for his faithful servants
His hands made it perfect in every detail

Only believers will ever be found up there
To enjoy an Eternal life there and forever
Trust in the Holy word He has given to us
All ties with the devil we must then sever

Oh what a glorious day we shall see there
Where all of God's disciples gather around
To listen to the words of our Holy Saviour
Then to hear the trumpets and their sound

Beauty of Heaven can't ever be compared
To any Earthly beauty we will ever see here
Dazzling colors shall we see up in Heaven
God made it with all His tender loving care

Will Never Part

I see a bright morning where the sun always shines
Gleaming castles of marble and Gold He built there
Far from the heartaches and pain we have on Earth
His Kingdom He has made for us is far up in the air

It is there we will see no suffering or worries to bear
Smiling faces is what we shall see there everyday
Wonderful will be our feelings when we sit together
Around God's great Throne and earnestly we pray

Wonder of all wonders He will bestow upon us all
We bow at His feet in awesome Glory to His name
May we never lose sight of His true love for us all
For up there we will never see any illness or lame

I want my Savior to know I want to join Him there
Feelings of adulation for Him fill deep in my heart
On that day I join Him in that great Heavenly City
It will be forever knowing He and I will never part

He Really Cares

Life is so wonderful since I met Him
He talks to me if I am feeling down
What a great experience it becomes
When He tells me I can wear a crown

Wanting everyone to know about Him
He sent His only Son to take our sins
His promise if we believe and obey Him
A home in Heaven as a new life begins

Everyone also can walk and talk to Him
All you need is ask Him in daily prayers
He will answer and give to you comfort
It will be shown to you He really cares

When that day comes that I meet Him
I will fall on my knees and give Him praise
For all the directions He has given to me
No doubts of His love will ever I raise

My Mother's Prayer

I can still remember my dear Mother
Praying come to thee before it is too late
Not long after that day I know she was
Standing with God at the Golden Gate

Her voice directed me to Him in Glory
Knowing what she said then was true
Through her obedience to her Savior
She now enjoys that Heavenly view

I know one day that I will be with her
Where we never again will have to part
Again to see her wonderful smile I knew
That came from deep within her heart

Yes mother it is true come to thee and see
What wonder lies ahead when He does call
Together forever in that beautiful kingdom
Where the beauty of the sun shall never fall
