Heaven Is Waiting

When the lights go out in this corrupt world
Will you be sitting there by your Lord's side
Has your soul found it's place up in Heaven
That beautiful place where we all will reside

Knowing the comfort of our Savior's arms
We will hear the harps playing so sweetly
In this Eternal land we shall forever remain
Faith in our Dear Lord was had completely

No pains, no sorrows, will we see up there
We will be saved by God's Grace we know
Blood of Jesus has washed our sins away
He has made us pure as a blanket of snow

So beautiful will be all the homes up there
Mortal words cannot describe their wonder
Be up there with our dear Lord and Master
Know the devil wants your heart to plunder

Our Christmas Gift

Each year I am reminded of God's gift
That first year it came before Christmas
A cold Saturday afternoon we were wed
Into this humdrum life came freshness

These years have been happy with you
Knowing how much love is in our heart
These years have been spent with a lady
I shall ever refer to as my sweetheart

With the joy of spending my life with you
I thank God for us meeting that cold night
You were so beautiful when we first met
I didn't want to let you go out of my sight

With the clamor of the Christmas season
One thing I shall never forget to tell you
God gave to me that wonderful gift in 1978
I think He gave you that wonderful gift too

In memorey of Paul Arthur 1911-2010

Our oldest church member has gone to Heaven. I wrote these two poems in his memorey. The first one Our Pastor read at his service.

In Memory Of A Friend

In the dark night God came to Paul
He said your mortal life is now done
All your worldly troubles are now past
My son your victory has been won

I am sure that up there he is smiling
Being there beside his Saviors side
Saved by Grace I can hear him say
With his God he will forever reside

He knew God and believed His word
God and his family was his whole life
He had no fear of what this world had
In his new home he wont see strife

Brother Paul I know we will miss you
But there is one thing that we can say
When we get to see you up in Heaven
We know it will be a most joyous day

Our Brother Paul

On a cold December night God called him
Welcome to Heaven I know you are a friend
With your faith you have had in your Lord
This shall be your home and it has no end

For many years Paul had studied the Bible
He prayed to his Savior all these years ago
He knew that when his Earthly life was over
With God up into Beulah land he would go

We all know that he is now with his Jesus
Many of his old friends he will see up there
Knowing that his love for our Eternal King
He will be in God's gracious love and care

Although we weep for our departed brother
We know that these tears should be in vain
He is so happy with his beautiful home now
Having no Earthly loss, Heaven is his gain

For All Eternity

When I hear my name called there in Glory
Tears shall fill these eyes on that happy day
I shall hear our Savior shout the message
Come my son I have taken your sins away

What a glorious feeling when my Jesus I see
His smiling face shows the love in His heart
Knowing I want to tell Him of my love for Him
I stammer not knowing how or when to start

Though I have no fear I am awed by my Lord
His presence radiates a warm feeling over me
Flooding my soul with this great happiness
I know from that old sinful world I am now free

I will know all the pages of the Bible to be true
For this is the land that He made for you and me
No suffering or pain will we ever see up here
Together in harmony we will live for all eternity

That Most Holy Night

Crystal flakes of snow fall so softly
Quiet is this night that's frigid cold
Our manger scene out on the lawn
Is surely a beautiful sight to behold

Depicting that Holy time long ago
When our Savior was born that night
They didn't find any rooms at the Inn
So a stable would have to be alright

It was there Jesus was born of Mary
Straw was used to make him a bed
Keeping quiet that most Holy night
Only very few words then were said

We celebrate this date every year
Christmas is what we call that day
Knowing it was He who saved me
I thank Him each night when I pray

His Name Is Jesus

He was born of the virgin Mary
In a stable's manger that night
A single star was there glowing
To make the darken sky bright

A Holy baby asleep in the straw
Few knew He was God's only son
He was born in this evil old world
So a sinner's rebirth could be done

Only perfect man to walk this Earth
He could heal both the sick and lame
We know He loved the whole world
Both the good and bad just the same

Few now think of Him at Christmas
Too busy buying gifts and the toys
Everything must be ready for Santa
Who gives gifts to the girls and boys

We should be celebrating His birth
For what He has done for you and me
Not just to make it a festive occasion
For we know this is way it should be

Riding Our Sleds

Lace like flakes keep falling down
It's covering Earth's brown ground
Deeper the snow gets by the hour
Soon no bare Earth will be found

We can see some kids on the hill
As they climb up to that hill's top
Then ride with an abandoned fear
Down to the bottom and then stop

As I watch I remember those days
I dream of my childhood back then
When everything was so care free
What days of fun for us it had been

Too soon we go past being a child
Still us adults would like to have fun
As I sit tilted back in this easy chair
Dreaming of my great toboggan run

I am sure God put snow in Heaven
Where everyone can have a nice ride
Even us elderly people can have fun
Riding on our sleds down the hillside

That Holy Book

If tomorrow brings to you satisfaction
For the good you have done this day
He hears and understands all things
He knows and listens when you pray

Believe in me is what God has said
I will show you a land you haven't seen
Where everything is fresh and beautiful
His Heavenly place shall always be clean

He has built a home for believers there
Where if you believe eternity shall reign
But if you don't believe in His Holy word
That place in Heaven you will never gain

Know our God and everything He gives
If you need help it is in the Bible, just look
Everything that you will ever need to know
Is written on the pages of that Holy book

Don't Be A Day Late

Putting it off today could be a large mistake
Finding tomorrow has come one day too late
Then you will think of what might have been
As you are turned away from Heaven's gate

His has this all mighty love and it is for you
Every day you should give this love in return
Some will say that the Savior is only a myth
Fools for in the firey pits of hell they will burn

They must know our Lord gave His all that day
Hanging on that cross up there on Calvary Hill
His blood has now washed all of our sins away
Confess all to Him and then abide by His will

Today should be your day you confess to God
Just remember that this could be your last day
Jesus doesn't want you down in the fires of hell
Today sinners get down on your knees and pray

My Trophies I will Lay

I wish that I could have seen Him
When He was walking among men
An Earth that was so filled with sin
Only but a few knew Him back then

If I could have walked by His side
Had been encouraged by His talk
Knowing He would be always near
Daily with Him I would love to walk

What a pleasure I would have had
Knowing God's only begotten Son
I would have honored and obeyed
With care watched what He done

Although I can't go back to that time
I can worship here and on this day
Proclaim Him the most worthy King
At His feet all of my trophies I will lay

He Is The Answer

If tomorrow you should meet your Lord
Can you tell me just what you would do
Would you sob in the gladness you feel
For with God, you have ever been true

Would your heart be so filled with love
That you fall upon your knees in prayer
Know that through Him you are saved
Throughout all eternity He is the answer

Would you look into His smiling eyes
Feel a warm smile come into your own
Exciting your mind with His presence
For He is the greatest man ever known

Some day I know that I shall meet Him
Where perfection is the rule of the land
Everyone can go to this Glorious place
Just obey His every rule and command

Always Near By

Roses without petals have not beauty to see
Life without promises will never set you free
Not knowing on which path you should tred
Fills up the heart with both misery and dread

Learn of the teachings of our Savior this day
You will find that His is the light and the way
Pay no heed that others of you might scorn
Know the feelings of a person being reborn

Some think a way to Heaven they can't attain
If they read in the Bible it will to them explain
Jesus died on that wooden cross for their sin
To be a believer is the start to getting them in

Know only through Jesus will you be saved
To that evil devil don't ever become enslaved
Heaven is a perfect home that is way up high
Feel the love of Jesus being always near by

Who Created You

If tomorrow you should realize your life is empty
In what way would you choose to cast your life
Would you find your way to our Lord and Savior
Or stay with the sinful ways that cause you strife

It is hard to stay on that righteous path to Glory
That devil or his demons are there by your side
Don't listen to their lies and all their foolishness
For it is with God in Heaven you want to reside

Simply stated there are only but two ways to go
Stand with God and find that everything is well
Or listen to lies about how it's better to have fun
Then be with with the devil in the firey pit of hell

How could anyone choose the devil over God
It blows my mind just to think that could be true
Don't be fooled by atheists who defile our Savior
For it was our God up in Heaven who created you

Waiting For You

If our sinful world would end tomorrow
Would your heart be filled with sorrow
Because you have never done a thing
To know our Precious and Loving King

With your heart full of love for our Master
Knowing that you'll find Him as your anchor
That will calm your life through rough seas
Making all the ill winds seem like a breeze

He is the light that shows and guides you
To His Holy word we need to ever be true
Untrue is the devil with all of his garbage
For it is his aim is to keep us in bondage

Be true to our God, love and obey His word
To do otherwise would certainly be absurd
Keep the promise that you will ever be true
Know your Lord in Heaven is waiting for you

Riches In Heaven

Own a mine that is full of Diamonds
With a river that is filled full of Gold
Would you then be satisfied with life
Having all of these treasures untold

Worthless would be all these riches
If you have a heart filled with greed
For all these riches will be so empty
When it's an eternal life you'll need

All of those brilliant Diamonds you have
Can't buy you happiness or even love
Every gram of that Gold cannot get you
To that sweet land we know is far above

Brought into this world as a small baby
Who needs to be nurtured and let grow
Worthless are worldly goods we amass
Believer's, riches in Heaven we'll know

Unspoiled Beauty

A lovely rose lives but a short time
Too soon it will then wither and die
It's beauty does fade, never to return
Only to be replaced by one near by

Nature somehow seems to replenish
Flowers and plants of unbridled beauty
Yearly we can see the splashing colors
Of Red and Yellow on a tall Maple tree

With a perfect clear brook full of Trout
A fisherman could stay the whole day
Filling his stringer with large Rainbows
This is the way he turns his cares away

I think of all that God has given to us
An unspoiled place where we can live
Yet some men cannot seem to realize
What care to our Earth we need to give

I Have Now Shed

When we meet in that land of perfect beauty
All of our sorrows and pains shall pass away
We'll look out the portals for our loved ones
Thank God, He has shown us that only way

Trials and tribulations we face on the Earth
Will be over when we are Heavenly bound
Our ascension up that pathway into Heaven
Shall be greeted by a most glorious sound

Angels, with their harps so sweetly playing
Will give such a great pleasure to our ears
Soon we will pass into our Heavenly home
It's there we can cast aside all of our fears

I am so thankful that I found our dear Savior
Knowing that sinful life that I had once led
He has brought me from the pitfalls of hell
Thank God that kind of life I have now shed

Isn't God Great

When I hear my name shouted there in Glory
What a wonderful day there I am going to see
Hear angels as they sing in perfect harmony
Walk with my Jesus along the deep Blue Sea

Knowing my strife on this Earth is past and over
Never to feel that pain or know sorrow any more
Heaven will be my home throughout all eternity
Obeying God here on Earth opened up the door

He has said believe in me, I will take you home
Where in my Fathers house you will ever dwell
He has told us that everyone has that choice
Live with Him up in Heaven or the devil in hell

Without a doubt I choose to be with my Savior
For to be with the devil is to live your life in sin
Isn't God great, if you will follow His teachings
Heaven's gates will swing open and let you in

Time Slips Away

Sands of time are slipping away
From baby to man goes so fast
Looking for something up ahead
Only to find it has already past

We are on Earth a short time
No way can we stop the time
Eternal will be time in Heaven
Everything there will be prime

When those Pearly Gates open
After my time on earth is through
I will enter into my Father's land
Up there, far beyond the Blue

Time then will not be a concern
Forever up there believers will live
A tranquil home He has built for us
In this great eternal life He will give

Life In Retrospect

As I am thinking about life in retrospect
I find many things have been so good
God in all His mercy watched over me
Seeing me grow from a poor childhood

Although we were dirt poor as some said
My mother had love for her four children
She tried to teach us all right from wrong
Raising us by her self was quite a burden

Mother has gone to see her great Savior
I know she waits for me in Heaven today
To once again be reunited with the family
I ask this of our Creator each time I pray

God has always been great to me I know
Why, some times I really don't understand
But now I thank Him for all His assurances
I will follow His each and every command

Sacred Land

When those Pearly Gates open in Heaven
I shall bow upon the presence of our Lord
With emotions that are sweet and adoring
I will know that I have received my reward

No other place could give me such comfort
Love abounds with every heart found there
Many smiles and hearty laughter we know
We will find up in Heavens crystal clear air

Take a long walk and view the great beauty
That God has given to all this Sacred Land
Of all the places in all of this entire universe
Only in Heaven has He made it so grand

If friend, you do not know our sweet Jesus
Get down on your knees and sincerely pray
For through Him is the only way to Heaven
Just ask Him and He will show you the way

I have Won The Race

It is with certainty I know my Savior lives
I will meet Him in Heaven one bright day
With all the joy my heart could ever stand
Love for Sweet Jesus has come my way

Even down here in this lonesome valley
I can walk and talk with Him without fail
For He is the strength of our entire being
He comforts both the healthy and the frail

No shadows do we fear for He is with us
Every day He will be standing by my side
Always gentle and warm is His demeanor
Up in Heaven one sweet day I shall reside

I shall hear the call that day when I leave
Climbing the steps up to that better Place
When I arrive to see those Pearly Gates
I will know with God, I have won the race

Walking With My Lord

As I walk with His thoughts in my mind
I can feel contentment flooding my soul
This Earthly life I know will soon be over
Heaven will be home as they call the roll

Knowing the Lord when I was but a child
I somehow slipped in the dangers of sin
Fearful that I had lost my home in Glory
I prayed to God, please let me come in

Knowing He was my only escape of hell
I confessed all of my sins that very day
God then came and in a soothing voice
Said, come for I am the light and the way

Happiness abounds when I am with Him
Knowing one day up in Heaven we'll walk
We will stroll the pathways He has made
Daily with my Lord and Savior I shall talk

A Short Time To Grieve

A tear glistened from his cheek
As he said goodbye to his wife
No trouble will you see up there
You have left this world of strife

He had love her most all his life
They met back in grade school
Some classmates did tease him
But he was far from being a fool

In high school the plans were made
Shortly after the graduation they wed
Two people then became united as one
Smiles came as the vows were said

Raising a family was hard for them
She had to stay home with the kids
No working outside the home for her
It was something her husband forbids

These fifty two years passed by swiftly
Their devotion to God had them believe
Now she is waiting for him in Heaven
Leaving him only a short time to grieve

Splendors Of Heaven

When my Lord calls me up to Heaven
Both joy and sadness will fill my heart
Joy because I will get to meet my God
Sadness for loved ones when I depart

Tho we shall be parted but a short time
Soon God will call you on a bright day
Then we shall meet up there in Heaven
Where we all shall have an eternal stay

We see the many splendors of Heaven
Many jewels of brilliance don His Throne
Wonders we had not seen down on Earth
Beauty no mortal man has ever known

When we walk in Golden sand up there
Little effort is used when we there walk
My greatest love will surely come about
When My Savior and I have a long talk

I Will Not Roam

When we meet up there by that River
Shouts of gladness will flood our soul
Happy tears will flow down the cheeks
Of those that our God has made whole

On the Earth our sin filled life we lived
Until His precious words we did hear
Filling our lives with great expectation
Of this great Kingdom we hold so dear

Now this poor humble soul does listen
To every word that my Savior does say
Knowing full well that He is the Master
Who I want to meet on Judgment day

Soon after this Earthly life has expired
My journey will swiftly send me home
Happiness then will ever fill my heart
From my Saviors arms I will not roam

Which Game

They grieve when their team loses
Yet that loss is not one of their own
That same compassion for our Lord
Would certainly win for you a crown

Only History will remember a score
From a game that was once played
But the score of life He keeps daily
Obey Him and never be dismayed

Team of life will ever be our winner
Working with God will make it be so
Follow every word that He tells you
Then a home in Heaven you will go

Tho we follow all these mortal games
None are so important that we do fret
These games are fun to see on the TV
Our game of life we never should forget

An Extraordinary Day

There is so much beauty surrounding us
God's perfection is everywhere we look
From the snow white covered mountains
Down to that bubbling crystal clear brook

We can see fields of waving amber grain
Oceans of Blue that never seems to end
Skies that are Azure, but at times cloudy
Colorful leaves in Autumn will always blend

We see children playing with great delight
Riding a straw filled trailer is so much fun
Son Rise Hill is so great for all the children
It seems that their playing never gets done

A sloping hillside with tall grass standing
Soon it will be cut and be baled into hay
Different colored ducks down at the pond
God has made this an extraordinary day

Bloodline Sings

It was on a Sunday October morning
Three voices sang in sweet harmony
At church was where we heard them
I know Bloodline was singing for me

We at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church
Thank these singers from our heart
So beautiful was all of their singing
You could tell that right from the start

After our morning services were over
We enjoyed a picnic on Son Rise hill
Great fellowship was had by everyone
I know the great weather was God's will

Heartfelt thanks to John, Christy, and Kim
We will welcome you at SHBC any day

God Paints The Leaves

God painted the leaves in awesome wonder
Magnificent colors of scope with perfect hue
Hills are alive with the many different shades
Could He have painted them for me and you

Maples seem to be His favorite kind of tree
Bright Reds and deep Orange we see them
Shades that blend from His flowing brush
Done with perfection from leaves tip to stem

He does all this painting after Autumn starts
These cool nights seem to be just right for Him
With a tinge of frost that is hanging in the air
Seems as if that is the time for Him to begin

With a kaleidoscope of the colors cascading
Throughout every tree the forest does show
All too soon they will come tumbling down
Then Winter will cover them all with snow

Follow His Footsteps

When we gather around God's throne in Heaven
It will be a wondrous day that we all will then see
Smiles will don every face in that Holy gathering
Heaven then shall be our home through eternity

No false hopes or idolatry will let us see Jesus
We must follow and learn His words every day
Precious is the way He accepts all us sinners
After we confess our sins to Him when we pray

Light will come after a dreary morning's dew
As the Sun drives all clouds away for the day
It warms up the air with it's all powerful rays
Only God alone could have made it this way

Think, my friend about the future days ahead
Follow His footsteps, He will show you the way
God's sun will illuminate the skies of Heaven
Peace and happiness you will see every day

Share His Love

Although my days are becoming shorter
This love for my savior shall never wane
It is with Him I find my peace and comfort
As I obey Him I then have Heaven to gain

Four score years ago I came to this Earth
Filled with sin but with hope from above
Precious Jesus died on that wooden cross
To save the world with His all forgiving love

Each day you should talk to our dear Savior
Tell Him of Your sorrows and all of your woe
Then faithfully obey all of His blessed words
Your path up to Heaven He will surely show

There is no other way you can get to Heaven
But to be in tune with our Dear Lord up above
Hear His voice and heed all of His warnings
Show Him that forever you will share His love

God's Perfection

If you would talk to our God daily
In this time of trouble and strife
Then things will be much easier
Throughout all of this mortal life

Knowing what is in store for us

For God who made every thing
With perfection has made it right

Beulah Land

When we meet up yonder in that Golden Jubilee
Our prayers will have been answered on that day
We thank the Good Lord He has kept His promise
Believe in Him, knowing He will show us the way

With a snow white mansion waiting for us up there
We will see fields filled with those stunning flowers
No Bees to sting us as we lie on a carpet of Green
Enjoying the beauty we will watch for many hours

With their Harps playing the sweet angels will sing
Bringing to us satisfaction we had never felt before
Hear songs praising Jesus for saving us from sin
We know that we shall be in Heaven for evermore

Not one dark cloud shall ever mar the Heavenly sky
Bright days will be showing us that Golden Strand
Happiness will reign forever with our sweet Jesus

His Goodness And Mercy

As the cool air drifts across the valley
My Savior is walking there by my side
Filling me with a spirit that is unending
His goodness and mercy will never hide

I see a smile that is tender and earnest
We know His love is both strong and true
His time nailed to that old rugged cross

He has told us believe in me and be saved
Then one day up in Glory you shall belong

Keith's Sunday Message

Those many words told of our sinful past
On that Sunday when I heard him preach
How many hearts did he open up that day
How many souls for our God did he reach

He likes to have fun and to make us laugh
That is no dummy he has for his little friend
He tells us of the glories of our friend Jesus
Who will take us all to Heaven in the end

Be strong, tell Him of your love for Jesus
Every night when you kneel down to pray
These are some words he instilled into us
With faith, in Heaven we will meet one day

Keith, you fill our mind with your inspiration
Telling us of God and how it will come to past
Hearing your words about our Loving Master
Knowing our home in Heaven will eternally last

His Powers

Have you thought about all His powers
Changing the sunshine into a rainy day
Lighting up the Moon on a darken sky
Creating a church where we can all pray

With powers unlimited, He can do it all
He created man from dirt in the ground
He taught us all how to eat and to drink
He showed us new horizons to be found

Because of Him we have food and water
If we listen we will find what He did for us
He let His only son die for all of our sins
We thank God for His son named Jesus

Those who do not know Him its a shame
He has created us a home high in the sky
Listen and obey everything he says to us
As you enter His Kingdom you'll know why

His Wonders

I look at the breadth of this great Earth
It's rivers, it's prairies, and mountains tall
I wonder how He created all these things
Creating life is His greatest wonder of all

From clay He made these human bodies
He made plants and trees to give good air
He made the rivers so we could have water
Everything He worked with His tender care

Today there are too many without our Lord
Some think a big bang created our Earth
Who are they trying to fool with their trash
Ignorance is what their thoughts are worth

Some day they will regret their mistakes
I just hope and I pray that it isn't too late
Instead of living in His Heaven eternally
They will find themselves in hells firey lake

My Friend Jesus

Although I walk into the deep shadows
There is no thought of fear on my mind
Our Blessed Lord is walking beside me
He is my protector so good and so kind

Anytime that danger darts its ugly head
He assures me that I am safe with him
He has filled my cup up with kindness
Until it is flowing up and over the brim

No one can be a friend like our Jesus
He has taken me from the dregs of sin
He has shown me the way to Heaven
Having listened I know He will let me in

Knowing that you are in need of a friend
Call out His name and He will hear you
Tell of your burden and all your troubles
Watch what our Lord and Master will do

His Master Plan

When my journey ends one day
I shall be on that Golden Shore
There to see my Lord and Savior
I shall live in His land evermore

He has been with me every day
Through the good times and bad
He has seen me in my happiness

He raised the spirit from deep within
No greater friend can I find than He

To take you up to His Promised Land

He can hear you from up above

Let the Holy Spirit stir your heart
For it will tell you where to go
As you talk to our Holy Redeemer
Your faith in Him will grow and grow

If God should call me to Heaven tonight
I shall leave this world and trouble behind
Go to a land that's to be my eternal home
Happiness in this Glory Land I shall find

Only He can show us the way to Heaven
He has cleansed our souls of all our sin
Be faithful to our Precious Lord and Master
He will open the Pearly Gates and let you in

Believe in Me and be saved He has said
Look in the Holy Bible it does plainly show
If you love our Blessed Father in Heaven
There on that one great day you shall go

He has loved you since He did create you
Wont you give Him the kindness in return
Remember only through Him is Heaven
Else you will go to Hell and eternally burn

Some day I will meet Jesus
There on that Golden shore
Then see my home in Glory
I will live there forevermore

Angels shout His Holy name
As we gather near His Throne
Beautiful flowers we see there
All blooming and fully grown

Rare Beauty I have never seen
Vivid colors that seem to light up
Many shades of Red and Green

Tranquil settings we can see there
Where love abounds with everyone
Happiness fills our hearts with joy

That Golden City

If tonight when you are sleeping
God should come to you and say
Servant it is time for you to go now
Get ready to be on your trip away

For you see you have been faithful
You have seen that promise I give
Believe in Me, have your life eternal
In My fathers mansion you will live

With His strong arms to protect us
I have no fear, apprehension, or care
I know its no matter where I might go
His power will always protect me there

When I see that Golden City up there
I will know that my journey is complete
Gathering around God's great Throne
All of God's children there I shall meet

When we meet on Heaven's shore
Nights will be as bright as the days
We will gather around God's throne
Listen to a harp that an angel plays

Happiness will fill each heart there
All His love will be felt by everyone
Smiles will don their glowing faces

Great joy we will see up in that land
God will call us all together that day
He will then tells us his Devine story
Of how our eternal life is here to stay

There will be a spirit of joy around us
When we hear our Great Savior talk
I know that my greatest time will be
When by my side our Lord does walk

When I walk with my Precious Lord
We can see that great Golden Shore
Where beauty abounds everywhere
In His kingdom I shall live evermore

We shall all be free from evil up there
Where the night is as light as the day
Holy Ground He made for you and me
Where His little angels frolic and play

Smiles will don the faces of loved ones
When we meet them by the Pearly Gate
If you followed His word and you listen
He will save you from a hot fiery fate

Although I do not know all the answers
Of this one thing I am certain and sure
He wants us all to live with Him up there
In this land that is both perfect and pure

His wonderful salvation
Brings us perfect delight
When I talk with my Savior
All things become so right

Hear the message He has
Don't let old satan interfere
Love and behold the Lord
His words are loud and clear

Pray to our Savior every day

Tell Him of all your past sins
You know that can't be wrong

Heaven awaits all believers
In the Holy Bible it does tell

Sure It Is Hot

We complain about it being so hot today
Never knowing what tomorrow will bring
It makes most people yearn for comfort
Like a cool day in the middle of Spring

But it was God who made the seasons
So we will have to take what He gives
As long as we all live on this old Earth
Until a day when we go where He lives

Up there we will see only one season
Every day will be very bright and clear
There we will not need airconditioning
Our Precious Savior will always be near

So withstand the heat of this hot Summer
Tell the Lord you thank Him for the day
You know you should tell Him each day
As you get down on your knees and pray

A bird sits high in the old Oak tree
Within this heart I hear it singing
Sweet melodies fills the air today
Enjoyment to me this is bringing

God filled our world with much beauty
To be enjoyed by both you and by me
Beautiful are the hillsides He made
Open up your eyes and you will see

Open your heart and hear His word
Know He will always forgive your sin
Happiness will then come to your soul
Let the Lords heart to yours come in

His wonders in this world are great
But dare you dream what's up there
His City that will be standing eternal
Up high and beyond our Earthly air

My Prayers

When the Sun sets on this life
Loving Jesus I will see up there
He has saved my soul from sin
I will live up there in loving care

Sin, it once was my companion
Wages of sin I know was death
But on that cross He saved me
There I shall have eternal breath

His life on Earth was a short one
This Son of God we love so well
His Earthly life ended on a cross
Saving us a dreadful time in Hell

Tonight as I say my prayers to Him
I will say a prayer for all of you too
I shall ask Him to forgive your sins
He has a place in Heaven for you

He Talks To Me

As I walk through the cool windy valley
My mind is about a million miles away
Suddenly I hear this strong voice saying
Sinner get down on your knees and pray

It is the voice from our Heavenly Father
A voice I had not heard in many years
I think back to the time that I knew Him
These memories fill my eyes with tears

I am thankful you haven't forgotten me
I said in a voice subdued and very low
Will You walk with me then guide me
It is Your place In Heaven I want to go

I Listened to the all words that He said
I Ask Him for forgiveness for all my sins
Showing Him I belong up there in Glory
It's the way my journey to Heaven begins

A Once Great Nation

We today will celebrate the birth of this nation
We wonder what will happen in a few years
Will this nation stand with God or turn away
Will it be filled with happiness or with fears

I know God is not happy with our nation now
So many men are trying to gather all the Gold
They should realize that their booty wont last
When the gates to firey Hell begins to unfold

Why don't we listen to the words of forefathers
All the important meetings started with a prayer
God was mentioned at every kind of meeting
They looked to the Heavens for their answer

Today it seems that there is no real happiness
Man has now messed up God's Green Earth
I wouldn't be surprised if He did away with it
Thinking that it is more trouble than it is worth

Independence Day 2010

With the strength from God they built this country
America, called the home of the free and the brave
But if we take God out of this onetime great nation
It will be ruined to where there is nothing to save

It was God fearing men, on this land in America
Knew they needed Gods help to make it strong
Since the courts decided we didn't need His help
Most everything that is done here today is wrong

God bless America was once a popular saying
Now they can't mention God's name in school
No time there will be given for a word of prayer
All true Americans know this is an insane rule

Have we gone so far away we will never get back
Freedom to worship when and where we wish
If we no longer listen to our great Lord and Master
It will be the United States that He will admonish

Independence day is celebrated on July fourth
It is our hope this country will stand many more
America give your thanks and our prayers to God
It is a thought that not one American should ignore

His Gold Covered Road

When I step on that Golden shore
I will meet my dear Savior up there
I once was a sinner in need of help
But now Jesus has my sins to bear

We will never walk alone in His city
He will be there walking by our side
To hear His gentle voice as He talks
Brings a tender loving feeling inside

To know all of His pain and suffering
He had as He paid for all of our sins
We must let Him guide us each day
Thats how our way to Heaven begins

Ever we pray to our Lord and Master
That we may go to His heavenly abode
When our life on Earth is over and past
We can walk on His Gold covered road

A Beautiful Thought

What a beautiful thought I am now thinking
I know that my Savior has this place for me
It is in a land where all true believers will go
When from this evil old world we are set free

I think of death as being reborn into His world
Where no ills or pains could ever be found
My journey in God's land there will be eternal
Starting when my Earthly body is in the ground

Though I may leave some with sorrow as I go
Know that I will be in a place of total happiness
For when I walk with my sweet Savior up there
Forever I shall be filled with Heaven's Holiness

No other place could be better than His Heaven
Where everything He has made is for you and me
Walking on the path of Gold or on the white sand
He will be there with me filling my heart with glee

A Very Great Blessing

When God created this big wonderful world
Many plants and animals He made to behold
He made man and woman to populate Earth
He created within the Earth, Silver and Gold

Beauty we see in the many kinds of flowers
All the types of trees reach up toward the sky
Reptiles and animals we can see in this world
Do you wonder why there is the old housefly

But God put every thing on Earth for a reason
All things are essential in His great master plan
To balance out an animal life there were enemies
To some animals their worst enemy is a man

To man, God has made this great sacred promise
Follow Him and believe, He has your home waiting
If you are true to God now and forever you will find
That He will bestow on you a very great blessing

Do you now walk alone in sadness
Think you are at the end of your rope
Place all of your faith in Lord Jesus
With Him we find everlasting hope

If you ask Him He shall answer you
He will tell you what's right or wrong
Pay attention to each and ever word
His messages will be so very strong

He has built a mansion up in Glory
Where your eternal life will be spent
No more aches and sorrows for you
Never caring where they all went

Your life spent with our Great Savior
Shall be eternal with never one care
Your name will be written in His book
As He takes you to heaven up there

It Is Mother's day

When I cross over Jordon she will be there
Her wonderful smile I shall once again see
She waited and watched all of these years
Together again with sweet mother I will be

No better love can there be than a mother's
She protects her offspring against all harm
Chastised us when we were being naughty
Then smother us with her love and charm

I smile when I think of my dear sweet mother
Knowing all the sacrifices she made for me
My two sisters and my brother all loved her
When we were together that you could see

So Sunday give that day to your dear mother
Be happy if she is still with you on that day
But if she has gone to Heaven she will wait
For up there with her you will eternally stay

My Grandma

Everything is quiet now in her little cottage
Its been that way since grandma passed away
Memories of my grandma will last a lifetime
I can remember her wonderful smile every day

Grandma would read from her Bible daily
For her God she always said a kind word
As she sang in the church choir years ago
Hers was the sweetest voice that we heard

Time passed and she grew old I suppose
I noticed how she would forget some things
One thing she remembered was her Bible
She loved reading verses of 1 and 2 Kings

At grandma's funeral there were many friends
Lying beside her was that old bible she read
I know grandma must be there in Heaven now
God has listened to everything grandma said

Why God Made Spring

Blue skies follow the rain
Sun brightens up the sky
A scent of fresh air comes
Soil is wet that was so dry

Sun gives warmth to the air
Rain will make plants grow
Beauty is seen in these hills
Its is this land that I love so

God created beauty we see
In Springtime it comes alive
After the ravishes of winter
We see nice weather arrive

God created Spring for us
So life could be resurrected
Plants died in the frigid air
Come alive as it's expected

Tho our days can be weary at times
Days when many things go wrong
Keep your faith in our Savior Jesus
His miracles are always very strong

When things get you heavy at heart
Prayer can chase your troubles away
Spend some time talking to our Lord
Know that He is ever looking your way

For you know we are children of God
Follow the teachings He gives to you
His heart is ever overflowing with love
Will you return His wonderful love too

See the brightness of a new day break
Watch as the Sun rises in all its Glory
Look to the sky, see all its magnificence
Look closely for it shall tell you a story

My Last Breath

Wisps of fog raise with the morning Sun
Another beautiful day is coming our way
I know God must delight to see our face
For the frigid Winter He has taken away

Gone is the dreariness of a long Winter
Suddenly Green has replaced the Brown
Springtime now will show all of her glory
With the leaves and flowers as her gown

We can now hear the whirring of mowers
As the lawns are growing at a rapid pace
Deep Green, where we used Turf Builder
Dodging raindrops sometimes is the case

Isn't it just a marvel how God has done it
Giving us all this wonderful life after death
Much like the awakening of the Springtime
My Eternal life will start with my last breath

The Beauty Of Springtime

Our hills are coming alive in their green finery
Winter with its cold weather is gone and past
Warm temperatures have brought the leaves
Springtime has now arrived and is here at last

Gone is the harshness we see with Wintertime
Mild will be the days that April will now bring
It is so exciting to see the flowers being reborn
God has made everything beautiful in Spring

Lawns are being groomed with expectations
Of being the best in the whole neighborhood
With a combination of fertilizer and lots of rain
Most all the lawns will look exceedingly good

Springtime is the most exciting part of the year
It is when from dead of Winter, Spring arrives
Reminds us of the resurrection of Jesus Christ
Who, of course we know in Heaven surrvives

Walk With Jesus

One day I will walk on those Golden Streets
My Great Master will walk along by my side
He will explain all those mysteries unknown
His love will fill my heart with wonderful pride

With all worldly thoughts gone from my mind
I will ask Him how I can serve Him even better
With a beautiful smile and His soothing words
He said son you have followed most every letter

Welcome to your eternal home I'll hear Him say
This is my promise that I gave to you so long ago
You have been chosen for all your deep devotion
Where down on the Earth it had continued to grow

This is the home that I have prepared for you
No more pains, worries, or cares shall you see
My land I have made for all of my true followers
Throughout all of eternity you will ever be free

Our Easter

With Sunrise services at seven
We must hurry to beat that bell
Breakfast we will eat then leave
To our church we all love so well

Sunday school will start at nine
Church services at half past ten
We will hear a beautiful cantata
By our choir of women and men

A day we give reverence to God
In remembrance of His only son
Jesus Christ died on a wood cross
So victory over sin would be won

With His ascension up to Heaven
He showed we could die, but still live
In that most Holy and sweet forever
If only to Him our hearts we do give

With Sadness He Watches

In a world filled with decaying morals
It seems some people can't see the light
Somehow they don't know or even care
That they will have to face God's might

Destroying both Sodom and Gomorrah
For both cities were filled with much sin
If He was looking for sinful cities today
I just don't know where He would begin

Corruption is seen in all the Governments
Seems as though everything is for sale
Greed fuels the minds of most all leaders
Not realizing their country will surely fail

Without God these countries will crumble
For they fail to know His will and His way
With sadness He watches as it happens
Knowing He must destroy it all some day

He Saw The Light

With a headache he would wake up
He would wonder where he had been
He remembered being at that tavern
Drinking orange juice spiked with gin

Gin and that devil rum he had drunk
Made his brain go into a fuzzy sleep
He had a job interview next morning
It was an interview he would not keep

No place to call home this cold night
As he stumbled down the dark street
He saw a small church come into view
It was cold and wet as it began to sleet

He fumbled with that heavy doorknob
It opened and what a sight he did see
Jesus was standing there at that altar
He said my son come over here to me

With your wretched life I am not pleased
Believe, that I will take your sins away
Listen and follow my teachings with faith
A home in Heaven shall be yours one day

Today he is the janitor of that little church
His pay there is very little that we all know
Many rewards will be for this humble man
On that day to God's Kingdom he does go

It's Spring

As the Crocus emerges from the cold ground
We know that Spring is soon to be on its way
Gone will be the harshness of the Wintertime
As we see the Sun getting warmer each day

Many flowers will show off their Spring beauty
Blooms show on trees and fruit they will bear
Lace like white snowflakes will be the petals
That set on the Apple trees and the lovely Pear

Pink will bloom on the Peach trees a lovely site
Tulips of all different colors and of many shades
Will grace both the hills and deep in the valleys
Grass will turn deep green on all of the blades

Isn't it wonderful God has made all the seasons
Each to be so very much different from the rest
If I had my choice of the four different seasons
I know I would love Springtime season the best

I Go In

As I walk in my garden of love
He is always there by my side
Beautiful are all of the flowers
I show them to Him with pride

Smiling He nods his approval
Joy them floods my inner soul
In His eyes I can see the love
He gives so tenderly to us all

Precious is this time with Him
I want to see Him night and day
When I go to His Heaven above
It will be my home never to stray

Praise be to our wonderful God
He gave His Son to erase our sin
When I end my journey on Earth
With Heavens gate open, I go in

Evening Prayers

As the shadows linger we sit down at dinnertime
Bow our heads in a blessing to God for this food
We thank Him for all He has given to us this day
His presence at our table brings on a happy mood

With all the work for the men finished for this day
A passage from the Holy Bible father would read
He then would tell us of a land beyond the river
Where God would provide us with our every need

Telling us if we believed and honored our Savior
Making each day time in which we would pray
That a place for us He has made up in Heaven
This place where we will live in eternity one day

He told us of those mansions up there in Glory
In this beautiful land where no one will ever die
I know he is waiting with my dear loving mother
Soon to see all their children there up in the sky

Each snowflake is guided to the ground
Tide will gives or take some of the sand
Sun can shine or it can be cloudy today
This will all be done by God's holy hand

In His great book everything is in there
Even the hair on you head is recorded
All the times and tides there is shown
Not a single thing will be left unreported

Will your rewards be in that great book
Remember He knows everything done
Will He say well done my faithful servant
Show you that your crown has been won

Only you will have to answer to that book
Makes no difference what others will do
When your page is open and then read
Everything recorded there is about you

In His heart I know I could find you
Along with everyone else on Earth
He loves us all with great passion
No difference in what's your worth

He created us all as His children
No matter what's the color of skin
He even loves all of those sinners
He knows how your life has been

Trust in Him and walk on to Glory
See this land He has made for you
Talk to Him, He will answer prayers
Love Him and always show it is true

For did He not die for all of your sin
Then should you not love and trust
If so your soul will go up to Heaven
As your Earthly body returns to dust

Every one so happy now comes thirty two
I know that God guided our paths together
No one I have ever seen that's lovely as you

You fill my heart with love and happiness
I can feel the joy deep down into my soul
God made our love by no means halfway
He has made it very complete and whole

Your beauty is not diminished in any way
Although years have past since we first met
I know these years has shown true beauty

That your being here with me has brought

Grandmother's Old Bible

Her name was written in back of that old Bible
One my grandmother owned many years ago
I saw my mothers name, one of many written
Starting with their first child, a family did grow

With seventeen childrens names written there
Each name had the date and time of their birth
All of them are there in Gods eternal care today
Heaven called them when they left this Earth

I will forever treasure this frayed and worn Bible
Grandmother would read it by a kerosene light
Her old eyes would twinkle talking about Jesus
She tried to keep us doing things that were right

Today I know she is watching me from up above
So many years ago she went to meet her Creator
All her family gathered around and ever near her
They are all with her now because of their behavior

That Heavenly City

When it comes time for me to go to Heaven
I shall lay down in that final earthly repose
There to rest my head upon that satin pillow
Across my chest will lay a bright Red Rose

Through the clouds my soul shall ascend
Until I reach that Heavenly City upon high
What happiness will overcome me that day
I will then know my Holy Savior is near by

Having more beauty than Earth could show
Heaven will bring amazement to these eyes
Fields there growing with lovely Green grass
Flowers with colors that will bring a surprise

It was on Earth I learned about sweet Jesus
Fostered by a devoted Pastor named Ken Estep
Teaching us the word and we made a promise
To obey Him, a vow that we have forever kept

As I walk with Him along the still water
A great feeling of relief comes over me
His smile brings a sense of happiness
Comfort with Him I shall forever be free

With Him I get a serene feeling of love
Radiating through the cool morning air
I see the beauty of the Sun as it raises
Know that I will eternally be in His care

For His is a wonderful place He made
Here on Earth it is not a perfect world
Up in His eternal place called Heaven
One day all mysteries will be unfurled

So I will walk along with him on Earth
Until I walk with Him up there on high
He will guide me along the right path

Many wonders are there to behold

In perfect health we all will be there

There is a land that is up in Glory
We will meet there one grand day
There to see our redeeming Savior
Walk along God's Golden pathway

Given a home in all of it's splendor
Throughout all eternity we shall live
See our precious Jesus by our side

Be reunited by all of our loved ones
As we stand near God's great throne
See all the beauty surrounding Him
Walk on the floors of polished stone

In our mansion we will find comfort
Far beyond anything down on Earth
Knowing that the faith in our Savior
Has given us an everlasting rebirth

Winter Fun

Today God covered the Earth white
With soft icy fleece that we do know
Most adults hate it but the kids love
This is a phenomenon we call snow

With snowboards and and new sleds
It is fun for every girl and every boy
Tho the cold wind chills their cheeks
It is something that they really enjoy

They pull the sled up a slippery slope
Rest a while then head it down the hill
Speed past the shale bark Hickory trees
Hold on tight so they don't have a spill

There is a roaring fire down by the lake
They can dry out their cold wet gloves
Huddled by the fire are some parents
A sight that our God in Heaven loves

Thirty two Christmas days we have been together
Each year to me is so much better than the last
This time I have spent with you as my lovely wife
Time has sped on by us and it has gone by fast

Each year gets to be much sweeter with you
You give me a gift that only a few will ever know
In my heart this love for you becomes stronger
Being blessed by God, our love shall ever grow

A big smile on my face will tell all of this world
These great feelings I have in my heart for you
Every day is like Christmas with you beside me
In these years I haven't found one that was Blue

I thank God that we are happy together today
Many will never know they can have happy life
But with faith in our Creator and a good home
I am so proud that I can call you my sweet wife
