You Have A Choice

He is with us both day and night
His love is so great and is strong
Never will He give up on anyone
It is up in Heaven that we belong

He has prepared this place for us
An Eternal home of great beauty
Our life will have no sorrow there
Happiness will be for you and me

If tomorrow you name comes up
Are you ready to meet your fate
Do you know you have a choice
Please don’t you let it be too late

Ask God to forgive your past sins
Let Him know of your true love
Tell Him that you believe in Him
You will find His home up above

Christmas Day

Squeals of joy rang out this morning
As the kids saw that Christmas tree
Here’s a present for Mary, Jim said
And look under there is one for me

As the children opened their gifts
Mother was busy preparing a feast
Company would be coming soon
Joy of Christmas will be unleashed

As they sit down to enjoy the meal
Father asked God for the Blessing
It seemed as though they liked it all
Especially mothers delicious dressing

After the dinner was over and done
A prayer thanking God for this season
Was said by father in his gentle voice
Celebrating Christ’s birth is the reason

His Glorious Place

Laughter rings as the children play
There is no fear up here to dread
Not long ago they departed Earth
An eternal sole will never be dead

God promised us a life after death
In a Glorious place He built for us
There we will have an eternal life
Walk that Golden path with Jesus

Only believers can tread that path
You must obey His supreme word
Then you can see all of the beauty
Hear the sweetest music ever heard

If everyone could see that Godly land
We would see no hesitation in believing
As every knee would bend down to pray
Precious thoughts would be revealing

Have you talked to Him today
Did He tell you of His great love
Or mansions He has made for us
In the Heavenly City far up above

 

Did you get down on your knees
Pray while being down at His feet
Ask Him to forgive all of your sins
If not you will soon feel the heat

 

Lift up your eyes toward Heaven
Envision what is waiting for you
He has made a grand home there
In a sky that is far beyond the Blue

 

If you knew what was waiting there
No longer would you tell our God no
But you would repent all of your sins
To His Eternal land you would then go

What a sad world it would be if not for Him
King of Kings, He of the greatest power ever
Creator of everything both seen and unseen
For everyone who believes He is the answer

Father to all who ever lived on this old Earth
His heart is so filled with love for His children
He died on an old wooden cross for everyone
Knowing all His work on Earth had been done

He awaits your journey to His home up on high
Where all streets are paved with the pure Gold
There to gather around God in all of His Glory
There many mysteries untold will then unfold

When we enter the gates of that beautiful City
Wonderful I know we shall find everything to be
From the marble palaces to the unclouded skies
But it is really Jesus Christ that we want to see

True Meaning Of Christmas

 
Too many have forgotten the true meaning
Of why we celebrate the Christmas season
Among all of the glitz and glitter we do see
It is forgotten Christ’s birthday is the reason

Of course children think about Santa Clause
They know He will bring them some great gifts
Their concern is that he makes it to their house
Not getting lost or caught up in the snow drifts

To us older folks we all should know of His birth
How in a manger Baby Jesus that night was born
To save the world from their sins that holy night
Yet He was looked at by some people with scorn

So take this time to reflect on the real meaning
Of what we really have this Holliday season for
Not the jolly fat man with his sleigh filled of toys
But for the birth of God’s son who we do adore

I Shall Never Depart

On this day of Thanksgiving
We give thanks to God above
It is He who made the Heavens
He filled it with all of His love

We thank Him for giving life
To His children on this Earth
We know there is another life
In Heaven we can have a rebirth

I thank my Lord and Savior
For Everything He gives me
He lets me live in a country
Where its people live free

This feeling I have for Him
Is felt deep within my heart
I shall see Him up in Heaven
A place I shall never depart

I Dream

I dream of this field of White Clover
Where I will walk with Him one day
It is that land where the angels sing
Where God’s children romp and play

Ever to be in His land of contentment
Where every day is filled with great joy
It is a land that God has made for us all
It is His way of loving each girl and boy

Only believers of God shall go up there
Where skies are always an Azure Blue
This land God created for his children
One day He will take both me and you

There is only one way to get to that Land
That is to believe and obey our Lord Jesus
Read the Holy Bible to find the way to go
Other ways would be completely useless

Lord so many things we are thankful for
Unlike many places on Earth we are free
Lord we can still worship at your church
There are some that don’t want this to be

This world seems to change almost daily
A country threaten to fight with another
It seems that the world is so hatred filled
We can see a man fight against his brother

I am happy that I can talk and rely on you
You are the light when darkness is about
Only you can save our complete destruction
Our country needs your tremendous clout

Lord I know that we really don’t deserve it
Could you have us recognize your name again
Our forefathers knew and worshipped you
It was by your help they were able to sustain

Although todays sky is dark and gloomy
I know the good Lord watches over me
He is ever present and He always cares
Even in the darkest of night He can see

His presence brings to me much comfort
It is in His protective arms I shall ever be

We know we must follow His teachings
If we are to live in His City high in the sky
You must be what is expected out of you
He wants that so you don’t ask Him why

Although He sets His standards very high

Shawnee Hills Baptist Church Is located in Eden Park near Portsmouth Ohio.

God smiles on Shawnee Hills Baptist Church
He has sent so many good people over there
People with hearts of Gold attend the Church
It is for God and Church they show their care

They show their love for all the young children
Sending buses so all the children might attend
To hear words that will save their young souls
They are happy to know that they have a friend

It was caring people that gave time and money
To build for the children beautiful Camp Son Rise
It’s a place where they can study the Holy Bible
We can see that it brings happiness to their eyes

Yes God has blessed this Church and it’s people
For they show what life should be and is about
Although it is not in a large building that’s fine
It is a beautiful place to worship without doubt

The Right Path

If God should call your name today
Have you atoned for all of your sin
Ask and He will forgive all of them
He will open Heaven and let you in

Feel the Holy Spirit as it leads you Home
To find contentment forever and always
Never waiver from all your love for Jesus
Heaven holds for us many pleasant days

Watch out for the one called satan
He wants to lead you the wrong way
Telling you there is no love with God
He will pursue you both night and day

Hold fast to your belief in Jesus Christ
It is through Him that you will meet God
See Him sitting on that heavenly throne
Know it was the right path you have trod

Do you know God’s path to Glory
There is only one way to get there
Only through Jesus can it happen
No other way can you pay the fare

Many truths in there you shall find
If you read all the words carefully

His Holy City

 
When we meet with God up there
In that Holy City that is way up high
No sorrows will we ever again bear
Comfort that our Lord will be nigh

God will see to each and every care
Harmony and accord ever we’ll see
Never one bad day will God permit
In this City He made for you and me

In this Land of bountiful love and joy
God has made this Eternal Kingdom
A place that His believers shall enjoy

There love will fill our thankful heart
Knowing God will ever be by our side

Time

Time is just a plain sounding word
It can either make you happy or sad
It can deprive you of so many years
Stealing a youth that you once had

Although there are 24 hours in a day
Some seem shorter, others seem long
Time may bring us precious memories
While other times everything is wrong

There was a time we came in the world
One day there will be a time for us to die
Gone from this world governed by time
We find one second more we can’t buy

If you believe in our God and obey Him
He will take us to where time is forever
No clocks or watches are used up there
We will find God’s time is so much better

Heaven Is A Prayer Away

There is no way to know where Heaven is
Trust in God and some day we shall know
If we believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus
It will be to His Eternal land we shall go

He tells in the Bible of this great place
Where all our troubles are left behind
Never will we face any problems there
No heartaches there could we ever find

See Blue skies and an ever warming Sun
In this Glorious Land His hands have made
Everything is perfection in that great land
None of the beauty up in Heaven can fade

It’s a place where all believers will go
Non-believers shall never find their way
That will bring sadness to our Lord’s heart
For He wants us all to go Heaven one day

Know Heaven can be just a prayer away
Get on your knees and confess your sin
God will answer your prayers and then
He will open up the gates and let you in

What joy we will find up in Heaven
We find no pain or sorrow up there
Everything up there is made for us
We will be in His tender loving care

We won’t see any suffering or dying
An eternal life up there God will give
With the ones who have gone before

Accented with fine Silver and Gold
His will be the finest of the very fine

If today your heart is so sad and weary
Confide in your Lord and Savior above
Tell Him of any trouble that bothers you
He can fill you heart with undying love

This world can be a cruel place at times
His love can solve all of your great fear
Confide in Him by talking and listening
Each word you utter He is sure to hear

Don’t you be fooled by a dirty old devil
Who will tell you lies to gain your soul
To ignore the words of our dear Savior
Would bring you harm and take its toll

There is a place far away called Heaven

I am looking for that City
Where I will forever stay

Why do we waste time on frivolous things
When we could enjoy talking to our Lord
He can bring to us many words of wisdom
With Him your time you can always afford

He will tell us of a place He calls Heaven
How we can spend an Eternal life there
To be forever in His immaculate Kingdom
Always to be in His sweet and loving care

He can direct us on how we can get there
By telling us of the Bible and of its words
If we follow all of its meaning and believe
We then can stand up to God’s standards

He loves us all and wants us to be with Him
In that beautiful city He built for you and me
Where He will protect us from any problems
No sorrows of any kind up there shall we see

Leaves of green have turned to color
On the beautiful Southern Ohio hills
Red, Yellow, and Gold show the color
This picture of beauty, time soon kills

Amazing shades greet our open eyes
Brilliant tints God made for us to see
He started with buds that would open
Now there is beauty seen on each tree

We must admire the colors we see now
Soon they will turn Brown and fall away
To become a forest floor for many years
It’s the price each of the leaves will pay

God puts on this show each year to see
In Southern Ohio He does it the very best
If you want to see this marvelous creation
Near Portsmouth it’s better than the rest

When You Pray

As my time on Earth slips away
I know Heaven awaits His call
Believing in my Lord and Savior
Is now complete and worth it all

He wants our undying devotion
His love He shares with every one
There is a place up in His kingdom
Where our Eternal life can be won

Don’t think that you’ll be left out
There is room for everyone up there
So give your heart to your Redeemer
He will handle it with His loving care

If you want to live forever with God
Get down on your knees and then pray
Ask Him to take away all of your sins
Tell Him of your love for Him every day

What a precious Savior He is to us
Having given up His life for our sin

We know that life on Earth is not easy
Satan is trying to entice you every day
But the one who really believes in God
Tells our Savior every time they pray

Jesus is the only way you can get there

He gave us eyes so that we could see

He gave us hands that we use to hold
He gave us teeth which chew our food

He gave us air so we could have breath
He gave us water so that we can drink
He gave us a heart so we have feelings
He gave us a brain so that we can think

He has given us all of these great things
What do you think to him you should give
He only asks that you only believe in Him
He will then give you an eternal life to live

The Old Man's Fiddle

As the old man picked up his fiddle
His thoughts went back to time past
When he had young nimble fingers
He could chord the strings very fast

Time has caused him to slow down
No longer will he be the very best
Still he loves to play that old fiddle
But times He has to stop and rest

Arthritis makes his hands grow tired
He noticed it slowly got into his hand
He dreams of a time playing in Heaven
With his fiddle in God’s Bluegrass Band

He knows his time here is not long now
But it has been one great musical ride
Soon he will meet the greatest musician
To his Lord up in Heaven he shall abide

God's Great Work

 Slight wisps of fog lift from the hills
On this rainy cool mid October morn
As the colors of leaves are changing
A kaleidoscope of the colors are born

I love the beautiful Southern Ohio hills
Every Autumn they seem to come alive
Each tree will show us a different tint
Such a shame they will not long survive

Still we enjoy the splashes of the colors
Reds, Yellows, Oranges, and many more
Divinely created with our Master’s hand
This beautiful scene for our eyes to adore

We are richly endowed in Southern Ohio
A classic show we get to see every year
When green leaves turn to different colors
It is God’s great work that we see appear

A Small Chapel

Our church has a bulletin that they give out on Sunday. Each one has a painting. This poem was written from one of those paintings.


 
She stands alone in the Oak trees
This chapel colored Ivory and Gold
A pastor who believes in preaching
The greatest Bible stories ever told

So beautiful is the little cove here
With small islands jutting out to sea
Waves break on the sandy beaches
This is a very lovely site that we see

Only a few houses are near the chapel
All freshly painted and looking so nice
A land so much like a picture post card
Everything is so proper and so precise

A small community that is lovely to see
Could it be a place like where you live
If you are blessed to own such a home
It is thanks to our God you should give

Come walk with me in the garden
Where the beautiful flowers grow
You can feel God’s presence here
It is a feeling that I will ever know

 

Knowing of the great love He has
I give Him all of my love in return
Respect I have for my blessed Lord

He has made a special kind of place
Where all believers will live one day
Land where harmony will be forever
Not a naughty word will anyone say

 

You must know Jesus is very precious
Through Him Heaven can be your gain
If you will obey and follow His words

Behind The Gate

 
Behind that rusted wrought iron gate
We can see the old stately Maple tree
Her leaves have turned to a lovely Red
A beautiful site God made for us to see

Frost has not come to this grand place
So we can see many Roses yet in bloom
There are many fall flowers so dazzling
Too soon winter will bring on their doom

Is this not the way with our lives today
God made us beautiful when small babies
We turn to adulthood and begin to flower
Then it’s all too soon our time of life flees

What you are on the other side of that gate
Will determine if you go to Heaven or to hell
You can rest assured if you believe in God
Your Eternal life will turn out to be very well

God's Autumn Scheme

So much beauty is found in these Ohio hills
As October’s cool nights change the leaves
Green changes to a multitude of many colors
God gave each a tint for our eyes to please

Looking up a small babbling brook we see
Small waterfalls splashing over mossy rocks
Water that is clear and pure seemly unending
Along side the fresh paw prints made by a fox

Growing near by is a spreading Curly Maple tree
Bright Red are her leaves waving high in the wind
With a breeze that gently blows upon her leaves
We soon see that her many leaves will be thinned

Falling into the brook that is flowing down below
A leaf begins its slow trip down the little stream
Hitting a rock it is trapped for just a short time
Thus is the setting of God’s lovely Autumn scheme

Gentle And Kind

 
As my road of life gets shorter
I know that He is nearer to me
His presence gives me courage
In His house I know I’ll be free

He built a home for believers
Who shall live for all Eternity
Pray to God that you get there
It’s a place we all want to see

He wouldn’t have it another way
He is perfection with every thing
He made His children out of Clay

On an Earth so filled with pain
I will leave all of my ills behind
Go to God’s place up in Heaven

Beauty seen in our Scioto County hills
Was made by God so many years ago
 He planted many kinds of trees here
Then He sat and watched them grow

As autumn time came He wanted color
So he took His paint brush to each leaf
With speed He painted the whole forest
His time with each leave was very brief

Painting a picture of many different hues
A dazzling kaleidoscope of color we can see
I am sure it was for our pleasure He did this
Our Heavenly Father is good to you and me

For what He has done for our county here
Other places He has made them pretty too
Still I think He spent more time on our place

In Complete Accord

One day I will walk with our Jesus
High on Heavens Hallelujah shore
Troubles we saw here on the Earth
Will never be seen by us any more

For His place will bring us comfort
Ease our minds and make us whole
He has made this Holy place for us

Knowing He has this love for us all
We need to give Him love in return
Then we can live up there with Him
Our home in Heaven we shall earn

Paths We Have Trod

Although my pockets have little money
I am rich with our God’s wonderful love
He sustains my life living on this Earth
As I wait to go to His land far up above

Not one penny will we take up with us
As we reach Heaven and an eternal life
Because the money is the root of all evil
On Earth it causes much worry and strife

God will provide everything we will need
In that Heavenly home He built up on high
His strength will be overwhelming to us all
Because of the knowledge He is ever nigh

Gold and Silver are not the answer to riches
But it is in the relationship we have with God
When life has gone from our Earthly bodies
We will be judged by the paths we have trod

One day I shall walk with my Lord
Stroll down that pathway of Gold
In that land of the sweet forever

As He has many times down here
When my burdens I had carried

Remembering

 
Born during the depth of the depression
But living in a home that had so much joy
Wearing clothing that wasn’t very stylish
No money to buy even the cheapest toy

God saw us through that life of despair
That depression was finally over and done
A great war erupted and so work was good
We worked together and the war was won

Although things were so much better for us
We no longer saw days with nothing to eat
We had a feeling that had kept us together
I loved the picnics when we all would meet

Sadly today I am the only one that is living
Everyone else has gone to reach their reward
I know I will see them all again one sweet day
When together we will be living with the Lord

If It Is God's Will

Camp Son Rise is Shawnee Baptist Bible Camp

Great was the day at Camp Son Rise
Lot of happiness was seen by us all
Wind cooled an unusually warm day
Beautiful beginning to the start of fall

Children were busy playing the games
While a trio sung a great religious song
I spotted brother Keith in the crowd
Didn’t see if he brought Charlie along

Food was plentiful and I ate too much
A can of Grape soda washed it all down
Smiles were seen on every face I saw
No one there did I see wearing a frown

This is God’s place and it is so beautiful
A pristine setting on top of a small hill
I know there will be a meeting next year
We will see you then, if it is God’s will

The Father And The Son

I do not tread this road alone
I know He is ever by my side
His comfort I know I can feel
With my Savior I shall abide

With a devil here to torment
It is hard to walk the right way
We break His commandments
By committing sins every day

He has taken on my every sin
Since the first day that we met

My time in Heaven He has set

I know He will take me up there
When this life on Earth is done

The Beauty Of October

Beauty is seen in these Shawnee hills
As October brings us changing leaves
God shows a spectrum of the colors
He has made for our eyes to please

Bright Reds, Gold, and Orange leaves
Are seen throughout all the tall trees
Some leaves are varied in their shape
Beautiful as they wave in the breeze

Sadly each leave will drop one by one
Floating in a spiraling spin to the ground
To be separated from that tree forever
Their dropping will hardly create a sound

Squirrels will play in those fallen leaves
Looking for nuts that fell from the tree
Holding the nut between his front paws
He can crack the nut with incredible ease

On this a cool crisp October morning
I feel His presence at the garden gate
Knowing He would be waiting today
I took great care not to get here late

Meeting Him here brings happiness
For it is so peaceful and ever serene
With Mums among the fall flowers
It’s the loveliest garden I ever seen

I can feel the joy well up in my heart
As on my bended knee I start to pray
Lord, You are my Master, my Creator
I know He hears every word that I say

To know He is with me gives comfort
For one day in Heaven with Him I’ll be
To walk and talk with Him on the sands
That border on that great Heavenly sea

I see a White fleecy cloud floating by
On this beautiful September afternoon
Summer passed into Autumn last week
Lovely colored leaves will be seen soon

God will show us another season now
It will be the one we will harvest crops
After they have been harvested by us
It changes and the temperature drops

Winter will come and we will then see
All of the beauty of flowers will pass away
Trees will lose their mantle of Summertime
Snow will come as the Winter sky is Gray

Spring time will resurrect all the beauty
Things will come alive then we can see
That God made us the different seasons
Each to have an appeal to you and me

He walks with me along the path

A Beautiful Autumn Day

  
What a wonderful day God has given us
We see Sunshine with an unclouded sky
So peaceful as I meditate what I do next
I could dream about Heaven should I try

I could walk down along the old Oak trees
Perhaps I would see some animals playing
Or maybe I could find a mossy old stump
Spend time there with my Savior praying

Soon we will see a God made phenomenon
Green leaves on the trees will turn to color
It is God’s way of making Autumn beautiful
It is a season we adore like none any other

God made this place for both you and me
So love it with your upmost pride and joy
Build up this marvelous place He has made
God made it for us, so please don’t destroy

I Want To Please

 
When I reach the top of that mountain
Much closer to my Lord I shall then be
Clouds obscure my vision up to Heaven
Still I know I am now much closer to He

I feel His love although I can’t see Him
His presence I know is always with me
He guides me down the pathway of life
Knowing that one day with Him I will be

He has given me a life and I thank Him
I know it is a temporary life that I now live
When the gates of Heaven are open for me
It shall be an Eternal life that He will give

When the streets of Gold I see up in Glory
I will humble myself and fall on my knees
He is the Heavenly Father who created all
It is my God up in Heaven I want to please

Named For God's Only Son

Shawnee Hills Baptist Church has built a camp on Route 140. It presently has room for 50 children. It has 2 cabins with beds and each cabin has air conditioners.

 
It’s with amazement we see the rolling hills
God made them with His upmost perfection
Land where He planted the trees of all kinds
This land gives all His little critters protection

On a bright Sun splattered afternoon I see
A hawk as He flies above searching for food
He needs to bring the food back to his nest
There he will feed his young starving brood

I see a crow flying along a hillside cornfield
There he will get into the farmer’s ripe corn
A scarecrow stands with it’s clothing tattered
Still the crow eats the farmer corn with scorn

At the top of that hill we can see the clearing
We can see that work up there has been done
This camp they have built with God’s blessing
Camp Son Rise, was named for God’s only son

Face To Face

 
Lord tell me about that Eternal land
Let me know how I can get up there
You know my heart is filled with love
Show me the way to your loving care

I have read of that place in the Bible
Have seen where I am welcome there
It says I must believe in all your words
Obey you commandments everywhere

I know I must wait until you call on me
To see what your hand has built for us
To walk on the streets up there in Glory
To meet your son who is named Jesus

That day will be like no other I have seen
I will hear angels singing Amazing Grace
Up there I shall live a life that is Eternal
Get to meet my loving Savior face to face

In That Land

When you hear the Lord calling
Get down on your knees and pray
He will show the way to Heaven
It will be a grand and glorious day

He has mercy on our sinful soul
But you must heed this warning
You must be true when praying
Thank Him both night and morning

He agonized on the cross for us
Dying that day for all of our sin
How can we deny our Savior now
He will open the gates and let us in

He shows everyone compassion
Inside His heart you will find love
One day soon I know I will see him
In that land He built high up above

A Place In Heaven

We know words can tell us a story
His is the greatest story ever told
He has a city waiting for everyone
Land that is paved with pure Gold

One day we will be called up there
Only Jesus can show us how to go
We must trust in all His teachings
Your love for Him will always grow

When times grow tired and weary
Look to the Lord for the best way
He will guide you on the right path
His home shall be yours some day

He will never abandon your hope
What He has told you is ever true
Never will He go back on His word
A place in Heaven is waiting for you

God's Protecting Care

Our life on Earth is filled with aggravation
It seems the devil just won’t let us alone
He will show us what we think is correct
Then find he is always in the wrong zone

Only Jesus will lead you on the right path
Never will Jesus show you the wrong way
His love and understanding is so unending
Just believe in Him and love Him every day

I dream of that wonderful land God made
Not one thing on this Earth can compare
I smile when I think I shall walk with Him
I will feel as though I am walking upon air

There will be a day when we will be happy
No heartaches or problems will be There
God will call us to be in Heaven with Him
There we shall be in God’s protecting care

A Sinner's Plea

Will You tell me sweet Jesus
What path I must take today
I know I must get on my knees
To the Father then I must pray

Answer my prayer if You will
Take this sin filled man away
Take him to your home Lord
Please let it happen this way

I know I have been a bad sinner
Disregarding what God has said
I now feel so much sorrow today
I wish the Holy Bible I had read

Is it too late to save me, my Lord
Can I today receive your true love
Will you save a place for a sinner
In a glorious mansion high above

Because

 
Because He is mine the Sun is brighter
Because He loves my heart beats faster
Because I believe He has a home for me
Because I know He is our great Master

I know He has built a home in Heaven
I know one day I shall see Him up there
I know He died to take away all our sins
I know we shall ever be in His loving care

I want to be in Heaven with my Savior
I want to share Heaven with each friend
I want to hold on to His nail scared hands
I want to give Him love that has no end

When we hear the loud trumpet sound
When time on Earth shall be never more
When I hear those gates to Heaven open
When I know angel wings will let me soar

A great day will soon be when I’ll see Him
A time when His mansions I will also see
A sight that will dazzle everyone’s eyes
A lot of love given to my Savior from me

Only Through Jesus

 
God has made a place of upmost beauty
It shall be my home throughout Eternity
Some day upon His throne I will see Him
I will feel the compassion He has for me

He has made this place for all believers
A home that will forever be open to us
To see this place of that God has made
You must know our sweet friend, Jesus
 
Only through Jesus can you get up there
He died on the cross to take away our sin
He only asks that you truly believe in Him
Obey His teachings and He will let you in

If you want to feel our Savior’s sweet love
Tell Him your feelings each time you pray
Give Him your heart and let love pour out
He will give you a home in Heaven one day

God's Undying Love

 
One day I know I’ll meet my Savior
Far above a cloudless sky I will go
Find my way to a peaceful Heaven
Up there an eternal life I will know

What joy will come into my heart
When I meet a most heralded King
Where I will see the angels singing
Hear the hallelujah bells as they ring

When I see that land of great beauty
I will walk with Jesus Christ every day
Tears will flow from being so happy
I’ll fall down on my knees and pray

Nothing else could be as important
But to know there is a Heaven above
Where we can spend a life eternal
There to know God’s undying love

Start Giving

Born in the midst of the great depression
A time when everyone knew it was hard
I would walk three miles for commodities
Maybe powdered milk or a bucket of lard

We were all poor back in those lean years
It was difficult just to find something to eat
A hard biscuit with a plate of white beans
We knew back then that was really a treat 

Some how we survived by the grace of God
As we look back to those days now long past
He gave us the strength to get through it all
It took a world war so it would no longer last

I look back to that time and thank the Lord
That He gave a much different way of living
Today there are still people who need help
Open up the old pocketbook and start giving

Our Country

  
Do you think the heroes of yesteryear
Would have faced death for our nation
Had they known what it would become
Would they have fought without caution

With all the situations this country faces
Leadership seems to vanished into the air
They took what had kept us all together
Doesn’t anyone now seem to even care

Their love of God created this country
It became land of the red, white, and blue
Today, His Holy name has all but vanished
To put His name in public has become taboo

Would all the people who fought and died
Still love this country like they had before
Maybe they would say it’s not my problem
God to most just doesn’t matter anymore

He has Made Me whole

 
When all life has gone from my body
On Earth I shall breathe never more
I will be on my way to meet my God
Walk with Him on that Golden shore

Meet those who have gone on before
Dear ones, we grieved at their passing
Not knowing they are better off now
Since they are in care of a loving King

A feeling of happiness I can now know
Realizing there is but one place I can go
To the land that is a place of perfection
All answers to my questions I will know

Knowing someday I shall be with my God
Brings peace and satisfaction to my soul
For He has promised me a home in Glory
I thank my God, He has made me whole

This Home

 
We can climb the tallest mountain
Sail a ship on the deepest Blue sea
See all the wonders here on Earth
In beautiful Heaven we want to be

I know He made Heaven and Earth
And what a great world He did make
Telling us a small thing about Heaven
We know it is real, not a kind of fake

Knowing how perfect He made Earth
Could he have made anything better
I am sure Heaven will be spectacular
A perfect place for an eternal shelter

He made this place for you and me
Where we could all live in harmony
Forever will we see peace up there
This home He built for you and me

One Happy Day

 
When we find a time of suffering
Prayer to God will see us through
He will bring us past the darkness
He has love for both me and you

Our God is powerful but so gentle
He wants to give us a home one day
Up in the land that we call heaven
Only Jesus can show you the way

Trust God and obey His written word
Study the Bible. within it you will find
How you can meet Him up in Heaven
Leave this old Earth and the daily grind

There is no secret on how to meet God
Fall down on your knees and to Him pray
He hears all your prayers and will answer
By taking you to Heaven one happy day

On Streets Of Gold

 
I left the valley to climb up the mountain
A mountain that reaches up into the sky
There I knew I would find our loving Savior
I could feel His love but didn’t know why

I wanted to ask Him so many questions
But afraid I’d take too much of His time
Being awe struck when He told me this
I have home for you in a city so sublime

No more questions were then necessary
I knew My Savior had a heart full of love
These feelings He has instilled within me
Did come from God in Heaven up above

I now have no doubts about undying love
For He has given me so much love untold
How wonderful to know that some day
I will walk beside Him on streets of Gold

God's Holy Land

So much comfort I can feel this day
For I know my God is standing near
His presence fills my heart with joy
His soothing words I now can hear

He tells me of a place that’s faraway
Beyond the most distant stars above
He named this beautiful place, Heaven
This grand place He has filled with love

He tells me His Son can take me there
If I follow and obey His ever command
He has built many mansions up there
Where we can live in God’s Holy Land
 
I promised Him that I will do my best
To exult Him and try to keep sin free
If I will give my heart and love to Him
Forever with my Lord one day I will be

Emotions

 
There are times when emotions hurt
Other times they can bring pure joy
Times when they make a tongue wag
Smiles from a child when given a toy

Emotions control our thoughts daily
Sometimes it may not be for the best
There are times we wish life was different
Days that we could let our emotions rest

Emotions can bring a beautiful wedding
Other times emotions tear friends apart
Spoken words might bring a hurt to you
As if a knife has penetrated your heart

As we think of our dear Lord and Savior
Love should be the emotion that we feel
Although He that gave us this life on Earth
A greater life up in Heaven He did reveal

Love

Beauty comes straight from the heart
With pure feelings locked deep inside
Thoughts of love for our blessed Savior
Are so sweet they will never subside

Ugliness is just a skewed state of mind
There is not one ugly thing God made
If your eyes see something unpleasant
It could be your vision might be frayed

What we see on the outside of a person
Does not show what’s within their heart
Love is worth more than one might think
When to you their feelings they do impart

If we all loved as God has meant us to love
Our life on Earth would be different I know
Our thoughts would change for the better
Because our love would continue to grow

How Sin Began

Why must there be sin in this world
A problem created by Adam and Eve
Just a foolish mistake they did make
What God said they did not believe

Forbidden to eat fruit from one tree
A serpent urged them to take a bite
Disobeying God’s command not to
They both knew that it was not right

So temptation of that beautiful fruit
Caused them to defy God’s Holy word
When they had eaten some of that fruit
God’s wrath very soon would be heard

Trying to hide themselves with fig leaves
God knew where they were and He said
You have committed a sin and I must say
For your sins some day you will be dead

So now we are all born with a sin nature
But God sent His Son to pay for our sin
If we will believe and worship God daily
He will open Heaven’s gate and let us in

Our Morning Walk

Though it is misty I can see Him
As I take my usual morning walk
It is here I come to meet my Lord
There we can have a pleasant talk

He tells me of His home on high
Where we can find eternal rest
To find this place called Heaven
He doesn’t give us a simple test

Give your love to our great Savior
Worship and obey Him every day
Follow all of His commandments
Jesus will then show you the way

Where life there is an eternal one
We will see the Sun forever shine
He will give me a mansion in Glory
It’s one that I shall ever call mine

Peace In Heaven

 
While I walk along this flowing river
I hear birds singing high in the trees
God has made this place so peaceful
To these eyes it does certainly please

With perfection God creates things
He would not have it any other way
Taking six days to make this universe
He then rested on that seventh day

If some day you walk along with Him
Pay attention to what He has to say
He will tell you of His Heavenly home
Where He wants you to go some day

In a world that is now filled with evil
His is the only way that we should go
Feel love for your Lord in abundance
Then peace in Heaven you shall know

Your Place In Heaven

 
When we find a time of suffering

He is the Master Healer for us all
He is ever there for me and you

Talk to Him and He will hear you
He already knows what you’ll say
You are one of His dear children
His love for you will never sway

Keep a place within your heart
For the love God gives to you
It will take you to His Heaven
Land that is far beyond the blue

There to live this new life forever
Where nothing evil could ever live
If you do believe in Him and ask
Your place in Heaven He will give

What a happy day we will see
When up in Heaven we arrive
Only through Jesus can we go
There we will be eternally alive

Lifted from this temporary home
To a mansion far beyond the sky
Then to feel the love of my Savior
That shall bring a tear to my eye

To feel His honest and true love
Will bring us down to our knees 
To ask Him to forgive all our sin
To my God I ever want to please

When He gives me a home there
I will proudly call His great name
For He is the Creator of this world
He loves His children all the same

This Wonderful Home

 
God created this land where we live
Respect it and use it in the right way
It is here we can learn from our Savior
Hear Him each night when you pray

If you earnestly listen to His words
Truth inside your heart you will find
It will show your pure love for God
Feelings that can’t escape your mind

Second thoughts should never appear
He is the light that shows you the way
His Son died to take on all of your sin
Love can take you to Heaven one day

Talk to God for He will always listen
Ask Him just what things you must do
To live in that land of Eternal beauty
This wonderful home for me and you

Look To The Savior

 
If some day you are feeling low
Look to the Savior who is on high
Your spirit will now be complete
You can feel His comfort near by

Ever He will be one to depend on
Know that He won’t let you down
Though days on Earth may be hard
Your faith shall bring you a crown

Only through Jesus will you find it
This place that has an eternal stay
He has built us a home up in Glory
Where we will find peace every day

Ills are not punishment from our God
For we have no perfection on Earth
As we climb those stairs to Heaven
Our past deeds will show our worth

In Heaven One Day

 
We come into this world with a promise
If we believe and obey our divine maker
One day we shall have a home in Heaven
For our Glorious God is a giver not a taker

He made the entire world in just six days
Everything had to be absolute and precise
He then created Adam, then created Eve
God provided everything and it was so nice

Still they couldn’t resist the temptation
When the Serpent lied to poor little Eve
They ate fruit from that forbidden tree
What God told them they didn’t believe

Sins they committed that day are with us
Only our belief in Jesus will take them away
He took on all of our sins and then He died
So we could live with Him in Heaven one day

He Is My friend

 
Yesterday’s thoughts fade into the past
Some will never come to memory again
But the thoughts I give to my good Lord
I shall forever cherish and will thus retain

He is the pillar of strength I can lean on
He listens to my problems when I pray
With Him I know I can never do wrong
He will take me up to Heaven some day

He is my friend, but He is also my Savior
His Earthly life had ended on an old cross
His life ended to save me of all of my sins
With Him I shall never suffer from any loss

I dream of my life eternal with Jesus Christ
Knowing it is then I shall know only peace
In that wonderful city He has built for us
We will see wonders that will never cease

In the darkness of the night
A Black scourge is creeping
He is trying to get your soul
Even though you are sleeping

If you believe in our Holy Savior
No harm will this savage bring
Being repelled by God’s hand
You won’t feel its deadly sting

God has built a great place for us
It has mansions where we will live
When we go to this Heavenly place
This promise our Savior does give

We know our God is a great God
He sent His son to die for our sin
Only through His son Jesus Christ
Heaven’s gate opens and lets you in

It is how we conduct ourselves daily
Will show where we will be tomorrow
If ever we neglect our Christian duties
We will find our lives filled with sorrow

If we worship and praise Him every day
We will find so much happiness within
Our blessed Savior, Jesus died on a cross
So He could take away all our Earthly sin

Do not think you can ever take this lightly
There is a devil waiting to steal your mind
He wants take you down to the lake of fire
To our Savior he will try to make you blind

Heaven awaits you if in God you will believe
A mansion He has made for all of us up there
Where we can forever live a harmonious life
Knowing we shall live there in His loving care

We Must Hekp Them

 
Some people have never met Him
Aimlessly they go throughout life
Facing this old world without help
They find so much trouble and strife

They must know a lonesome feeling
If with our Savior they haven’t talked
Kindness they could find in their heart
If with sweet Jesus they had walked

If they could know how to love Jesus
A bright future they would have in store
Their heartaches would suddenly vanish
There would be happiness for evermore

We must find and help all these people
Let them know that God really does love
If they will trust and follow His teachings
They’ll find a home in Heaven up above

What is your relationship with God
Do you know Him in a spiritual way
Have you said prayers to Him lately
Will you praise and honor Him today

Can you tell our Savior you love Him
Do you know He died for all our sins
Have you heard of a home in Heaven
Love God and your soul He then wins

Do you walk on the side of the devil
You know he will take your soul to hell
There you shall ever burn in his fiery pit
Where no one listens each time you yell

My friend get on the side of our Savior
Get down on your knees and daily pray
If you know and worship God almighty
You will find a home in Heaven one day

Not Some Idle Talk

I want to walk along with sweet Jesus
Up there on Heavens hallelujah shore
No troubles will there ever beset me
Heartache and pain will be never more

With these feelings deep in my heart
There is no way would I ever go astray
Our Savior shall ever be there to help
Should I ever waiver on Heaven’s way

I will follow all of our Lord’s teachings
Try to be everything He wants me to be
Although I know I will never be perfect
His perfect Kingdom one day I shall see

If your heart and soul is the right way
One day with Jesus you also can walk
Read the Holy Bible and then realize
That God’s word is not some idle talk

His Great White Horse

 

 

A warrior on His great White horse
Rumbles through the dark of night
Searching for lost souls He can find
He fears no evil for He has no fright

 

He once was on this Earth years ago
Then He had walked with mortal men
Most could not understand this man
When He tried to help them back then

 

Each day on this handsome White steed
He rides to save those sinners from hell
Fighting that monster they call the devil
Trying to save all of those who have fell

 

If you meet this Rider on a White horse
Let Him know that you are on his side
Tell Him of this deep love in your heart
In His eternal home then you will reside

Beautiful And Grand

 
There is a place I want to call my home
Where the skies are unclouded all day
A mild breeze that gently cools the air
It’s in this Land I want to eternally stay

I have been promised a home up there
If I repent all of those sins I have done
Follow His teachings and read the Bible
If I do these things my crown will be won

Every day I will proclaim He is our King
None other will I bow down to in any way
He will save my soul from the evil devil
It is to Him, I give my thanks every day

To spend eternity with my Savior there
In a Land He has prepared by His hand
Will be my reward for serving our Lord
This Land that is so beautiful and grand
