World's First Sin

Many millions of years ago
Our universe was quite bare
But in six days God created
Everything with extreme care

He made water and the land
Created mountains and seas
Made the Sun to give it light
Being hot He made a breeze

He made Adam in the garden
Then Adam’s wife called Eve
It was a pure perfect place
He asked only they believe

But a serpent tempted Eve
See the fruit on that tree
God won’t miss just one
He didn’t say to let it be

Eve fell for that serpent’s lie
Changing this place we live in
Disobeying their Heavenly Father
They created the world’s first sin

His Garden

 
With dark clouds seen on the horizon
Could that mean an angel might cry
Or is God going to water His garden
Because some of His flowers are dry

I walk in that garden with Him daily
So much beauty is there to behold
It’s a precious place where we meet
For to me it is worth more than Gold

I daily thank God for this fantastic place
Where with Him, I can spend some time
It is a wonderful place to walk with Him
It is so lovely some would call it sublime

If you have never walked in this garden
Ask God if He will permit you to go there
I know it must be very much like Heaven
Because God built it with His loving care

Pledge Of Faith

 
 
Because He doesn’t seem to answer
Does not mean our Lord doesn’t care
He hears and soon it will come about
Keep asking Him in your daily prayer

Everything must be done in His time
He knows what is best for you and me
Your faith must be real and unending
If you are to live with Him eternally

I am ever so thankful that I know Him
So much difference meeting Him made
All those sinful things I had in my mind
Suddenly those thoughts began to fade

Live for Him and reap wonderful rewards
Say your pledge of faith to Him every day
One day He will take you up to that Land
Where with Him, you shall eternally stay

Ouch

There is a searing pain in my shoulder
Caused by a pinched nerve in my neck
PT was tried without relief of any kind
A series of shots has made me a wreck

It was caused by being cut off in traffic
I swerved to keep a car from hitting me
I had my seat buckle fastened as I should
Still my shoulder was allowed to be free

My left shoulder hit my little truck’s cab
I don’t know how I kept it under control
I know God was riding with me that day
If not I would have become a traffic toll

What is next, maybe an operation I’ll see
If so it will be the second one on my neck
With the very many operations I have had
That last card of my life is still in the deck

Keep Your Faith

 
He gives to me peace and comfort
Every time that I kneel down to pray
My Savior knows my every feeling
As He listens to each word that I say

Soon I will be in Heaven with Him
Where happiness will fill my heart
Knowing in His home I shall reside
From my Savior I shall never part

With perfection He created Heaven
Where we can live with Him eternally
There could be no greater place for us
A beautiful home for both you and me

I hope one day I will see you up there
Where our friendship shall never end
Follow His advice and keep your faith
Heaven will be yours to see my friend

God's Campground

Shawnee Hills Baptist Church has a camp for children located off route 140.


It lies up there on a grassy knoll
What once was filled with trees
Now it is a children’s playground
To our eyes it does surely please

A place where children find God
With the name of Camp Son Rise
You could know they were happy
By seeing that gleam in their eyes

To hear all the joy of their yelling
Knowing they were so happy there
Brings out what love they had inside
These four days out in the fresh air

While many have worked so hard
To make this camp what it is today
It is God who gave this lovely place
Where all of His children can play

God's Beautiful Land

 
As I sit and think of years gone past
My mind goes to a happy yesterday
When things were at a slower pace
Reality of life had not come my way

I went to Church like the other kids
Still I didn’t quite understand it all
I knew that God was up in Heaven
I had hope my name He would call

As years sped rapidly onward I found
He had become a big part of my life
I did my best to know all about Him
For with Him there will be no strife

Today I understand more about Him
If I follow His word and to Him pray
He will show me God’s beautiful land
Where I shall live with Him one day

You Will Abide

When I enter that long dark tunnel
That takes me from my life to death
I will give praise to my God in Heaven
Then thank Him with my final breath

For I know Glory will be mine forever
When I enter that City made of Gold
This will be my home for all eternity
Reading the Bible, this is plainly told

We will find His Land is so beautiful
Only God could have made this place
When God made up the whole world
For beautiful Heaven, He made space

Love will flourish in that lovely place
It is a Land where no evil could hide
If you wish to live with Jesus up there
To His commandments you will abide

On Bended Knee

I feel His presence here beside me
Each time that I kneel down to pray
Comfort is mine when He is near me
Together we shall be one bright day

It is written that if I abide with Him
Follow His commandments each day
There is a land that He has promised
For believers, a place that is far away

One day I shall reside in that Holy land
Where happiness will ever be with me
To know that sweet love from my Savior
It is then I shall pray on bended knee

Only this place shall I ever seek to find
Where Jesus will welcome me one day
He will show me a land that is awesome
A beautiful land where the angels play

Am I Worthy

Lord please tell if I am worthy of Heaven
Will I walk with you some day up there
Tell me if I will see you in all your Glory
Will I spend eternal life in your loving care

I know, I believe and have read the Bible
I have the feeling of the spirit in my soul
Lord it is with you I want to spend eternity
It is your teachings that made me whole

I know the old devil wants me to forget you
He would love to keep me in his dirty hand
But my love of my Lord who is up in Heaven
Will one day let me walk the Golden strand

Lord I know that you have love in your heart
My heart holds so much love for my Lord too
If everyone had my passion and love for you
They would forever love our Lord and be true

Walking With Him

As I wait for Him in the garden
Sweet scent of Roses I do smell
Seeing Him brings me happiness
Love in my heart begins to swell

He is the all in all, our Savior to us
He is our Creator, a maker of man
He made everything our eyes see
Yes, His was the most perfect plan

As I walk beside Him this morning
My feet hardly even hit the ground
 Much beauty we see when we walk
  A brook is making a soothing sound

There will never be a greater feeling
Than to be able to meet Him this way
 I will ever walk with Him up in Heaven
When my Earthly life has passed away

Last Breath

When my last breath has left this body
My life on Earth will be done and over
A six foot hole they will drop me into
Soon to be covered with white clover

This old body will remain in that hole
My new one will never see that grave
Jesus has told me He took all my sins
As He is my Savior a new life He gave

Happiness came to me as I found Him
He told me to follow Him all the way
When that last breath has left my body
I will be ready for a final judgment day

Soon I will climb those stairs to Glory
Get to meet our Redeemer up there
See the love that flourishes in Heaven
Knowing I shall be in His eternal care

I Am In His Care

How comforting to know I am in His care
If today He calls me to my home eternal
Happiness will fill up this heart to see Him
For without Him my life would be feeble

He brightens my days when I talk to Him
He guides me down life’s path each day
There is a warmness in my heart always
Tears fill my eyes as to Him I daily pray

He is the only one I take my troubles to
He listens and I know His words are true
He tells me of a home He has up in Glory
A Haven of rest for both me and for you

That day when He calls me to be with Him
Will be filled with happiness within my soul
For it is with my Lord and Saviors promise
That has made this old Earthly body whole

Our Eternal Days

If that trip is very long and dusty
He will help you with your load
If you trust and understand Him
He will put you on the right road

For He loves each of his children
He has made a fine home for us all
In a land where there’s no Sunset
I will go when I hear a trumpet call

Rare beauty will seen up in Heaven
For He has been exact with His plans
Everything He built with perfection
Doing it with the strength of His hands

When we go there, happiness we find
Knowing He will provide for us always
In His home far beyond all the clouds
A place we will spend our eternal days

It Was Just A dream

When waking up from this bad dream
I felt deserted and had no way to turn
I dreamed I was caught up in the devil
He gave me a sentence, I should burn

Soon I realized this was just a dream
I fell on my knees, then long I did pray
To the only one who can save my soul
Thankful He will keep that devil away

To my wonderful Savior I say a prayer
Knowing only through Jesus I will go
To the land far beyond Earth’s Sunset
It’s there God’s Kingdom I shall know

Knowing and loving Jesus isn’t a dream
It is real, read the Holy Bible and know
He can give you a home for all eternity
I will be there, I wonder will you also go

That Tomorrow

When that tomorrow comes my way
Earthly thoughts will leave my mind
I then will be on my way to that land
Of beauty that God made one of kind

Nothing we have seen here on Earth
Will compare to that beautiful land
I know my eyes will be amazed there
Everything is perfect as it is His plan

Walking the Golden strand with him
Will bring so much joy into my heart
Tears will fill my eyes with happiness
Knowing from my Lord I’ll never part

Why can’t all the people understand
He has prepared for us a Haven of rest
Why do some turn their back on Him
When believing in Him would be best

You Home Too

Believe in me He told me that day
I will lead you to a Kingdom of Gold
Where you shall never die up there
His was the sweetest story ever told

One day I shall meet Him in this place
A land in which I will never grow old
It is this eternal land He talked about
A land that can’t be bought or sold

I know that beauty will flourish there
He made Heaven so wonderful I know
Earth’s glamor would pale to that Land
If it weren’t true, He would told us so

To walk those Golden streets with Him
Is a thought that some day will be true
His land will be my eternal home soon
Rest assured it can be your home too

Don't Be Blind

As those twilight shadows linger
My thoughts go back to that day
And think of the many blessings
God has given us because we pray

We think of this wonderful church
He guided us to on a lovely Sunday
Of seeing a Pastor on fire for God
All the nice people we saw that day

God only shows us the good things
Listen to His word and be His friend
For He will show us a path to Heaven
When our life on this Earth shall end

No fleshly thought are worth our time
When Jesus should ever be on our mind
For it is through Him you will see Heaven
Trust in your Holy Savior, don’t be blind
