My Dear Mother

Only one we will have in a lifetime
She could kiss a cut and make it well
If we were scared she will comfort us
If we were sick she could always tell

She was the one who cared for us
She would always do her very best
She held us in her arms as a baby
At times I wonder if she took a rest

Always there when help was needed
She never let us stray far from her sight
She would get up from a deep slumber
Checking on us during the dark of night

Yes mine has gone up to Heaven now
On Earth I know I shall not see another
That kind and sweet lady that I knew
I am so proud to say was my mother
